Principal objectives and activities
Ob'ects
Christchurch Carrickfergus provides variou5 services to the community; including care for the
tem)inally ill and elderly in nursing homes. Christening of babies, Weddings, Burials etc, care for ex
service Community and a resource for youth in addition to recognized Christian education. In addition
lo food and on occasion emergency funding for needy families. I lelping maintain good community
relations and is also involved in overseas missionary activity which bLnLfit the wliole comniunity.
Activities
The direLI benefils which flow from our purpose include an improved quality of life and wellbeing,
including spiritual wellbeing, the encouragement of family tability, tackling poverty, increased
knowledge, reducing social isolation. increased social interaction and provision of activities for the
young and old. Direct benefits also include seeking and raising fijnds for essential resources and
amLnili¢s to reach oul 10 those living in Carrick"fergus, its ei)virons and further afield lo provide
activities for ¢veryone to enjoy and take part in and through increased volui)teer activity growing their
skills and abililics. The provision of ihe Church for religTiOUS and social activilies leads lo increased
opportunities for all in the area through a shared space to support and dcvLliip the well-beingy ot.
inhabilants, not only providing an understanding of the Christian beliefs but also through support and
guidance which is used to enable members to be better able to serve in the local community. The
churLh provides leaching and training opportunities, and provides resources and pcople of the church
to support ¢lCtivilies for all lo avail of and gain from. Through the dev¢lopmenl ol. rel¢itionships with
other churches locally, nationally and overseas. a greater reach is possible, increased le<?ming results
and collaboration is accessible. The benefit is demonstrated by feedback from benefiLiaries. Increased
church attendance, better integration into the communitylless isolation, which leads to better mental
health and Spiritual wellbeing. Family building through marriage and provision ol. childrcns aclivities.
Trdining of new workers and demonstration ot new skills. This purpose does not lead to hann. The
mellings and activities are free of chargye and open lo all. The benefit is for all within the
Carrickfergus area, its environs and further afield as decided by the trustee5. It is for thc public at
large and those for reasons of their youth, age, infinnity or disdblemenl, poverty or their social and
economic circumstances, are welcome to come to and partake in the services and activities of
Christ¢hurch Carrickfergus. There is private benefit to Pastors who are employed by Christchurch
Carrickfergus to Carry out the work of the church and sometimes travel expenses. A5 our work ot. the

Achievements and performance
Another successful year at Christchurch.
We have seen a continued steady number attending our church services and activities and some new
members, we have continued our push for growth.
We continue to support our local community Wlth regular food donations to the local foodbank as
well a% support and assistance to our Missionary projects in India and Africa and Philippines. We
have also assi8tcd with "Christmas Shoe Boxes" tor the Philippines and also donations to local ex-
service groups and those in urgent iieed.
The church conlinues to have an impact in the local coinmunity by providing baby dedications,
weddings and funerals for the cominunity.
Our building is now almost 25 Years old <ind a.s such some equipment upgrades and replaccments are
now becoming necessary as well as exlcrnal rep<iirs. We continue to maintain the upkeep of the
building with an ongoing maiiitenance progyramme. painting, cleaning, groundwork's etc, assisted by
many volunteers.
We wish to takc this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers which operate in every aspect of our
chui-ches life aiid opcriilioi)s.
Financial review
The Trustces are satistied with the performance of Ihe charity during the year and the position ai 31
Marcli 2024 and Lonsider that the charity is in a strong position Io Ll)nlinue its activities during the
coming year, and tliat tlic chdrily'5 assets are adequate to lultil its obligations.
The trustees are satistied with the results of the charity during the year together with the financial
position at 31 March 2024. They consider that the charity ts also in a strong position to continue ils
activities duringy the coming year, and thal the charity's asset5 are adequate to fulfil its obligations. At
IhL I l March 2024 there was £94,007 of. a surplus in unrL.4lricted funds, with £1 10,419 of a surplus in
restricted fuiids. The charity also has a Capital Fund reserve of £400,000 which relates to the
valuation ofthe churLh building.
