LAGAN VA￿￿KoSprrAL LX-PATi£Kfs GUIIII Charit Commission No. NIC 103468 SHOP TRADING I" Februa 2023- 31" Janua 2024 Ladies, This is my 25th AGM Financial Report for the above trading year, and I trust you find it in order. l am pleased that we can all meet again for this Annual General Meetin& it is some time since we have had face to face gatherings, and it is an opportunity for you all to identify the person to the names on the telephone lists. My sincere thanks to Richard Warin& who very kindly Audits the Accounts for the Guild Shop, this is no mean task, checking the balances and figures on the balance sheet from the entries made each day on the shop lodgement sheet, enable us to submit the audited account to the Charity Commission, undertaking this duty is a time consuming job, Richard does the audit at no financial gain to himself, we are so very fortunate to have the benefit of his expertise in Accountancy. Our profit for trading 2023 2024 - was £8169.60 a great result for the many hours you lodies covered opening the shop - this profit is a large increase £1886. 18 on last year5 profit ond while we remember thot the footfall and the bed stay in the hospital is very much reduced, due to the mony chonges within the stotus of this hospitol or should I say Hub I would odvise you that during 2023/24 we purchosed two items of E4uipment for two departments amounting to £3169.21 the details are shown on the printed account. •é As you ore awore the Cash till has been on its lost legs for o long time, the expertise of sticky tape bandage wos only prolonging the eventual demise of the till, so a decision was taken to purchose o new model, the working is very similor to the old model, so it is not to befeared, this expense {£238.80J is shown on the Annual Financial Report. To my knowledge we do not have any department/ward equipment requests pendin& however, one of the doctors did enquire if we were in a position to tske orders as the hospital staff have been very aware that our trading has been greatly reduced due to the changes within the Lagan Valley Hospltal, so l am sure as the new departments get organised, we might very well get a few requests, which is very much what we want, as the aim of the shop is to purchase medical and surgical equipment to assist the Medical, Nursing, and patients who come to LVH. Ladies l am speaking above my pay grade here, however, I do thank every one for the tremendous efforts you have made to keep the shop open, there are a few ladies and I'm not sure if there is a fold up bed at the back of the shop, but they seemed to be covering alot of the rota, and we are indebted to you all, for helping out, we welcome the new ladies joining the shop, however, l understand we have a few vacant rota slots, perhaps you may have some friends who would like to join the "teams" and be of help to the Ex-Patients Guild Shop and the service it provides to the staff and the community at large. Ladies, my sincere thanks for all you do for the Ex-Patients Guild, over these past years and hopefully for some time to come, the wonderful profit is a testament to your hard work. Edith V Mcconnell Hon. Treasurer.
