Ladies.
This is my 24th AGM Financial Report for the above trading year. and I trust you find it in order.
Again, this year the office bearers decided that we would share the 2022123 accounts and reports via "Royal
Mail" I know some folk enjoy the get together, however, this year we thought it might be better to leave face
to face gatherings, as many of the ladies are still concerned about meeting folk
My thanks to Richard Warln& who very kindly Audits the Accounts for the Guild Shop. this is no mean task,
checking the balances and figures on the balance sheet from the entrles made each day on the shop
lodgement sheet, enable us to submit the audited account to the Charity Commission. undertaking thi5 duty Is
a time consuming job, all this Richard does at no financial gain to himself, we are so fortunate to have the
benefit of his expertlse in Accountancy.
+ Our profit for trading 2￿022 23 - was £6,283.42 a gret7t result for the many hour5 you lodies covered
opening the shop - while this profit is a reduced amount from yeors pre Covid, we must remember that
thefvotfall and the bed stay in the h05PItGI 15 very much reduced.
S i would advise you that during 2022/23 we purchased two item5 of Equipment for two deportments
amounting to £504Q99. the detoils ore shown on the printed occount.
<+ A decision was taken to purchase a Small drawer freezer to enoble 5ole5 of Ice-cre%ms ond lollies, this
expense (£209,00) is shown on the Annual Financial Report, and the customers reolly oppreciated the
ovoilobillty.
To my knowledge we do not have any departmentlward equipment requests pending, however, one of the
doctors did enquire if we were in a position to take orders as the hospltal staff have been very aware that our
tradlng has been greatly reduced due to the changes within the La8an Valley Hospital.
Last year I referred to the fact that we had a number of ladles who decided to "retire" and again may I thank
every one for the tremendous efforts you have made to keep the shop open, I know we have had the privilege
of some new ladies Joining the rota, however, l understand we have a few vacant rota slots still to be covered,
l am aware that many of you undertook extra duties, and that is greatly appreciated, perhaps you may have
some friends who would like to join the "teams- and be of help to the Ex-Patients Gulld Shop and the service
it provides to the staff and the community at large.
Sincerely with thanks,
Edith V Mcconnell
Hon. Treasurer.
