the ffftancial statements of the tharity for the year ended 3 1 January 2017. The trustees have adopted the provisions of
Accouttting and Reportitig by Cbarities- Statemeni of Recollunended Prdclice appli¢able to charities prepartng their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable tn the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)
(¢ff¢¢tive l January 2015).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTivrriES
Objectives and Activities
The objectives of the Compaoy are ¢o.'_

peoples of Easl¢rn Europe in particular hospitals alld OTPtwiages.
It atms to advallce the education of the public in Northern treland coneemtng the causes of and way of relieving
poverty. sickness attd distress in Eastern Burope.
Activities
We raise money by way of re.¢>ular sponsorship alld donations. We also have a shop to sell clothing and other ite￿5
donated. We generate money by recytling and ¢aTry our other fundraisino activates. The money generated is then
given to families on a bi-monthly basis. We also fi]nd education of S￿dents that caTLnot afford tg pay for il. These
families are chosen by the town hall and s¢hool teachers as bein(p poor and in need. We also help families with money>
appliances and paymettt of utility bi115 directly to the utility company when they are identified as being in need. We a150
njn a canteen for Éhe poor providing I meal per day for. We renovate kindertsarten5 and provide new textbooks for
schools. For families with alctsholi5m or the inability to manage money we pay a fixed amount p¢r month in the village
shop for them to draw on lg needed. These amounts are monitored on a regular b&5iS to ensure they are being used
properly for the needs of the children. We also send a newsletter to our regular donors updating them on the work being

Public benefit
The benefits flowing froln the purpose of the Charity include an iftdividual families identified to be in need being able to
afford the basic needs of foo(L clothing ond housing. This leads to improved health and wellbeing. Communites have
access to basic infr&%tructure, water and gas supplies, basic childcare, etnployment opportunities. leading to i￿ProVed
to￿1 economy and community development. Thi5 fu￿1claI assistance has enhanced relations between Northern trelattd
and the Eastern European country being 5UPPOrted.

Financial Reviesy
TILe total iticome for the year ended 31 January 2017 amtsunted to £44,090 (2016.. £577451- Total resources expended
during the year amounted to £44,974 (2016.. £60,920) of which £38,414 was in the forn) of gifts to Moldova (2016..
£44,600). The Charity held £3,046 ill c&th reserves at the year end (2016: £3.013). The Trt￿￿e$ regard this as
suffi¢ieDt and are reviewing the reserves policy in the Current year.
