The Trustees present their report and the financial ststements of the charty for the year ended 30 June
2023. The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORPI
'Accounting and Reporting by Charities. {FRS 102) in preparing the annual report and financial statements
of tha charity.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in notes to
the accounts and comply with the charity's goveming document, the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008
and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practi￿ applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 102).
Structure. govemance and management
The chanty is a company limited by guarantee and was incorporated on 12 January 2011.

The company actively promotes a board of trustees which includes a range of skill, experience and
knowledge in keeping with the pursuan￿ of its Objects and to this end it is entitled to advertise and inteNiew
eligible candidates to be potential trustees of the board.
None of the tnjstees has any beneficial interest in the company. All of the trustees are members of the
company and guarantee to contribute £1 in the event of a winding up.
New trustees are invited and encouraged to attend a series of short training sessions to familiarise
themselves with the charity and the context within which it operates. These sessions cover the obligations of
trustees, the main documents which set out the operational framework for the charity, resourcing and the
current financial position and future plans and objectives. New trustees are also referred to the Charity
Commission's guide "The Essential Trustee..
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that systems
are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks.
Objectives and activities
The charity's objects are to promote play based learning environments to enhan￿ the development and
education of pre-school and school-age children by: providing the ne￿SSary facilities for safe and satisfying
group play for pre-school children and for the daily care, recreation and education of children during out of
school hours and holidays,. offering appropriate play facilities with the right of parentslcarers to take
responsibility for all children- support the values and principles of Early Years- to advance any other
exclusively charitable purpose as the trustees may, from to time, decmle in accordance with the law of
charity.
The aim of our charity is to provide G wonderfijl environment for children to leam and develop and to prepare
for the future. It is also to ensure that parents are confident and happy that their child is in a warm, caring
and safe environment. Our aims fully refl=ct the purposes that the charity was set up to frjrthei.

The objectives for the year continued to be providing a warm, caring and safe environment in which children
can leam and develop.
The strategies we use to achreve our objectives include providing a full curriculum to the children, evaluating
the activities provided, working to national standards and working in partnersb.ip with other agencies to
ensure the best range of services are available and meet the needs of the children and their parents.
The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities
the charity should undertake.
Achievements and perforniance
The charity has continued to enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age
and school children in the P1- P3 age range.
Financial review (including reserves pollcy)
The accounts have been prepared for the year ended 30 June 2023. The trustees are satisfied with the
results for the year as disclosed in the Statement of Financial Activities on page 8.
Cash flow projections were prepared for the 12-month period from the dale of approval of the accounts. The
trustees have a reasonable expectation that there are adequate resoLJrces to continue in operational
existence for the foreseeable future. The trustees therefore continue to adopt the going con￿rn basis for the
preparation of the financial statements. The trustees will continue to monitor the situation.
It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a speGifiG use should
be maintained at a level equivalent to between three and six months expenditure. The trustees consider that
reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able to
continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be
raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year.
Employee involvement
The charity's policy Is to consult and discuss with employees, through unions, staff counci15 and at meetings
matters likely to affect employees, interests.
Information on matters of Con￿rn to employees is gwen through infomation bulletins and reports which
seek to achieve a common awareness on the part of all employees of the financial and economic factors
affecting the charity's perft)rmance.
Disabled persons
Applications for employment by disabled persons are afvrfays fully considered, beanng in mind the aptitudes
of the applicant concerned. In the event of members of staff becoming disabled, every effort is made to
ensure that their employment within the charity continues and that appropriate training is arranged. It is the
policy of the charity that the training. career development and promotion of disabled persons should, as far
as possible, be identical to that of the other employees.
Compliance with Public Benefit
The company has given careful cons deration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on
public benefit to ensure that the activtties entered into during the year have helped to achieve the charity's
objectives and activities, as well as providing public benefiL

Trustees, responsibilities
The trustees, who are also the directors of Belmont Playcare for the purposes of company law, are
responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the accounts in accordan￿ with applicable law and
United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting PractiGel.
Company law requires the trustees to prepare accounts for each financial year which give a true and fair
view of the stste of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources,
including the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that year.
In preparing these accounts, the trustees are required to..
-select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.
-observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP:
-make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudenc
-state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed. subject to any material departures
disclosed and explained in the accounts" and
-prep2re the accounts on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will
continue in operation.
The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial posttion of the charity and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply
with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and
hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detects'on of fraud and other irregularities.
