1.Meetings started this year on 4 th April and the group met 7 times throughout the year. Chairperson thanked everyone for attending these meetings.
-
Plants were ordered in early May from local supplier and planted out in early June by all the members. Members felt the plants did very well this year and they produced a very bright and effective floral display around the village.
3 .In August the group was asked to take part in the Heart of the Glens festival parade. Some members took part and dressed up and produced a floral display to promote our work throughout the year. Well done to those who put the effort into this wonderful display.
- Once again we held our coffee morning to raise much needed funds. Members felt that we need to discuss the possibility of moving our coffee to a different day or maybe a different time of year.
5.Annual report from chairperson.
Triona started her report by thanking all members for their continued support.
Triona talked about our achievements over the year which included the tubs being planted around the village ,taking part in festival parade to raise awareness of our group and early discussions with local vintage group as to putting a tractor in prominent place decorated with plants. These discussions are on going.
Another matter is the coffee morning..funds raised this year were well down and we will have to give this matter some thought next year.
Triona then spoke about the difficulty about getting things done as there is so few in the group. Although we have a very strong group she felt we could do with more members and urged members to think of ways to get more members.
Triona thanked all members for their continued support to the group and hoped to see everyone in the new year.
