|Summary of the purpose of the<br>Charity|The relief of poverty, sickness and<br>promotion of any other charitable<br>purpose in particular for the benefit of<br>serving or retired members of the<br>Police Service.|
|Main activities undertaken for public<br>benefit|The charity seeks to improve the<br>physical, mental and spiritual health<br>of both serving and retired Police<br>Officers and Police Staff who face a<br>highly stressful working environment<br>with continued need for support post<br>retirement.<br>The benefits to these individuals is<br>evidenced through our contact with<br>members and supporters over the<br>reporting period who sought our<br>assistance via various methods<br>including post, Email, Facebook and<br>telephone. Direct assistance is offered<br>though events, local Single Points Of<br>Contact (SPOCs) and Field Workers.<br>Activities undertaken during the<br>reporting period are listed at the<br>achievements and performance<br>section.<br>In 2022 CPA introduced a new Office<br>Bearing role to Committee namely<br>“Wellbeing and Pastoral Support<br>Coordinator.” This role has been<br>developing throughout 2023.|

||Future Plans|The charity seeks to expand its direct<br>assistance to serving Police and Police<br>Staff though greater peer support in<br>the form of SPOCs, Field Workers and<br>Wellbeing and Pastoral Support<br>Coordinator.<br>The charity also seeks to arrange a<br>number of events to provide<br>operational police officers and staff<br>with faith based information.|

|Summary of the main achievements<br>and performance of the charity during<br>the reporting period|In 2023 the following  activities took<br>place:<br> Weekly Thought for the Week<br>shared with CPA mailing list for<br>support and encouragement<br> Distribution of quarterly<br>magazine to members and<br>supporters<br> Committee meetings bi monthly<br> 2 Trustee meetings per year<br> Fortnightly & Monthly share<br>and prayer meetings hosted by<br>charity members<br> Monthly CPA committee prayer<br>time|

 Reviewing and inputting into the development of PSNI Service Instructions and Policies  CPA raised £2,250 to support the Hope for Youth generator appeal to purchase generators for churches in Ukraine  CPA ran a Discipleship programme with some officers and staff encouraging them to deepen their personal walk with Christ  CPA shared an online Easter message  2 charity members participated in the annual 3 day CPA UK National Conference  International Day of Prayer for the Emergency Services including zoom meetings  CPA Lite event in Belfast  Charity members participated in a walk and BBQ in the Mourne mountains for fellowship  Charity members participated in student officer information evening  CPA Holiday Bible Week where charity members and

supporters enjoyed teachings, fellowship and a family fun day  Data Breach support offered to PSNI  CPA partnered with Kintsugi Hope charity and held an event with them to discuss mental health and wellbeing.  7 CPA members are undergoing training in relation to Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing group training  CPA have spoken at church events and participated in partnership events such as ROC & a local Men’s conference  3 charity members participated in the annual 3 day CPA UK Leaders Conference, this included a gala dinner to celebrate 140 years of CPA UK  In person Carol Service - a series of short videos with readings, carols and comments from colleagues in PSNI and other emergency services  Regular contact with other faith based organisations  Charity member remains a participant of a number of PSNI

working groups  2 volunteer field workers remain in place  Peer support offered via SPOCs and Field Workers 

## **Financial Review**

|Review of Income / Expenditure|For the period 01/01/23 to 31/12/23<br>the charity had a total income of<br>£35,934.82.<br>The total expenditure for the same<br>period was £15,531.24.<br>Balance on 31/12/22 was £20,403.58.<br>These funds are held in order to meet<br>the planned and unforeseen<br>expenditure of the Charity.<br>All funds are unrestricted.|
|Financial Review|The Charity continued to receive<br>income from the free will donations of<br>members and supporters with some<br>serving Police and Police staff utilising<br>the PSNI Payroll giving scheme. A<br>number of gifts and donations were<br>also received from churches and faith<br>based organisations.<br>The Charity is financially stable and<br>holds no debts.|

||Future Plans|The Trustee’s continue to discuss the<br>most appropriate usage of all funds.<br>Payroll giving income will continue to<br>be encouraged for serving PSNI<br>members and supporters of the<br>charity.<br>All expenditure will be in keeping with<br>the charitable objects.|
