We report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 30 April 2025, which are set
out on pages 1-2.

As the charity's trustee5 you are responsible for the pieparation of the accounts in
accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Irelandl 2008.
It is our responsibility to:
examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act.
follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Commission under
section 65191 Ibl of the Charities Act.
state whether particular matters have come to our attention.
Basls of Independent examiner's report
We have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charitles Act
and our examination was carried out in accordance with tl)e general directions given by the
Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65191 Ibl of the Charities Act.
Our examination inclvded a review of the accounting records kept by the charity
and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking
explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters.

Publle benefit
The trustees believe that our purpose satisfies both ¢l¢ments of the public benefit
requirement. The benefits which flow from our purpose includ¢ the feeling of social
inclusion, the learning of new skills through ihe provision of equipment so to advance and
develop physical. mental and emotional capacities and self-confidence and the hedth and
wellbeing of the members and enables rt8idents to realise their full p)tential.
These benefits can b¢ demonstrated through f¢edback from the members obtained for
discussion at each meeting of the Trustees. There is no private benefit or harni.
Benefits are asses9ed at the following levels: A rnonthly Tn￿teeS meeting where activity and
project uPd￿e$ are discussed. an annual community meeting to indude volunleers and the
AGM, which is open to the public, and encouragement given for all io att¢

Barnlee Crafts and Activitie5 directly providc the bcncfit of edu¢Ltional aids equipmenl
activities and facilities for adults with a leaming disability.
This is achiev￿ by meeting with the beneficiaries on a regular basis and engaging in
activities and fimctions and outings. Th¢ Baml¢¢ Crafts and activities Charity shop lo¢ated in
Derrylin financially supports the activiti￿ and outings and &ssists in the purchase of items to
enhance the lives of its b¢nefi¢iari¢s. Th¢ Charity shop operales with 20 volunteers and
opens five days a week. This is demonstrated through the provision of a people Carrier to
facilitate trips and outings donal¢d in th¢ first y¢ar of tradin& In July 2017 a portable clothe5
line was purchased to enable the residents to participate in their laundry as an activity to
promote education and In Au&yust 2017 two Qu￿n Anne ¢hairs were purchased for the
residents to create a foyer 2r¢a to enhance quiet moments and visils from family rnemb¢rs. In
January 2018 an additional two-seatcr queen Ann¢ thair w&8 purchased to extend the foyer

type experienc& A therapyleL8e room upgradc look lake place in late 2019 and the t￿￿teeS
worked towards a planned donation of ten thousand pounds towards this. The work included
a h¢ated waterbed, bubble tubes and a sensory magic enteLtiinment system. This is a
asset lo the activities of the Tesidenls.
The purchase of wcled plastic gardffl furniture was a welcome addition to assist in our
garden for visiting. These chairs are wlourful and ar¢ abl¢ to b¢ sanitis¢d and ¢r¢at¢ a
chcerful outdoor area.
The Project discussed last year for ￿ Upgraded outdoor space and enhancement of th¢ garden
area wmpleted in September 2024. A donation of £30,000.00 was paid from Barnlee Crafts
and Activities on the 16 August 2024 towards this project. We believe that it will be vcry
beneficial lo the residents their families staff and will enable community events to take place.
Functions were able to commence again and be orranged in the community to enhance social
skills and provide the opportunity for social, recreation and leisur¢, an annual dinner sharaj
with beneficiaries celebrates the anniversary and entcrtainment and fun is provided for all
went ah¢ad on Odober th¢ 12 2023 and celcbrated the ioth anniversary of the shop opening.
This ¢vent was a dinner held at th¢ Share centr¢ and the Residents met with the volunteerJ
and the Barnlee Crafts and activities board members. A photo opportunity w&8 arranged at
th¢ Charity shop to ￿MmeMOr4te the anniversary and a huge ￿n￿tulationS to all the
volunteers for their l O years of commitmeni. The Volunteers visited Bamlee for the official
opening of the Sensory 8ard¢n in Sq)lemb¢r 2024 and enjoyed food and music. The Annual
gathering of the volunteers took place in Café Nico on the 1811212024 and presented an
opportunity to show apPr￿latIon and valu¢ to each and every Volunteer.
Fortunately. the shop was able to avoid closure durinbv this financial period. A rinLy and
collect service was put in place during the past closure period and remains as a contingency
plan should the shop be required to close again. The volunteers welcomed the to their
volunteering role and complied with PPE guid¢lin¢s.
The Crafts and Activities shop Volunteers were nominatal for the Fernianagh Rural
¢ommunity n¢twork group award in 2021 and won this award, noting their substantial
contribution to the quality of life in our local communities and work mu¢h appreciated.
The income for the charity comes from sales in the charity shop* recycling income, donations
and Sales of arts and crafts.
Rent and utilities ftir the charity shop are paid from the income from the Shop sales.
We would like to tske this opportunity io thank the Volunteers for their many hours work
to help us achieve and deliver the objecls of Barnlee Crafts and Activities we would also like
to extend our gratitude to all who donate ilwns to the shop.

Plans for Future Perlo
Barnlee Crafts and Activities are committed to securing longevity for the objects of the
charity and are excited about proposals post financial year one of these being a replacement
buslPeople carrier.
To achieve these commitments. Barnlee Crafts and Activilies continue to review current
educational needs and beneficial equipment and activities for th¢ advanc¢m¢nt of education
and the relief and promotion of ihe benefit of people with learning disabiliti¢5 and associated
problems aged 18 years and over and ihcir carers. Barnlee Crafts and activiti¢s will
encourage volunteer participation and reeruitment to sustain the shop rota needs.
