The Directors, who are the trustees for the purpose of charlty law, have pleasure In presenting thelr
report and the unaudlted financial statements of the charltable company for the year ended 31
March 2023.
The financial statements have been prepared In accordance wlth the Statement of Recommended
Practice "Accountlng and ReportSng by Charities" (FRS 102), Unlted Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accountlng Practlce and the Companles Act 2006,
The reference and admlnlstration details of the charlty are as shown on page 3.
The Trustee's report contalns the Informatlon requlred to be provlded In the TrLJStees' Annual Report
under the Statement of Recommended Practlce (SORP) guldellnes, The trustees of the company are
also the charity trustees for the purpose of charlty law and under the company's consitutlons are
known as members of the board of trustees.
In thls report the trustees of The Antrlm Down and Armagh Rural Support Network (T.A.D.A.)
present a summary of its purpose, governance, actlvltles, achlevements and finances for the
financial year 31 March 2022.
The company Is a reglstered charlty and hence the report and results are presented In a form whlch
complies with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 and, although not obllged to comply with
the Statement of Recommended Practice, the organisatlon has Implemented its recommendatlons
where relevant In these flnancial statements

Benefit by the Charlty Commlsslon for Northern Ireland, and are pleased to report that durlng the
year the charltable company has continued to provlde Public Benefit through the services offered,

Review of Activities, Achievements and Performance.
Durlng the year support has been provided to rural communlty groups in the Armagh, Banbridge,
CraigavDn, Lisburn and Castlereagh area to Improve the quality of life for all people of the area.
TADA strive to develop capacity and leadershlp skllls asslstlng to empower and sustain local
communltles. Support is provided on good governance, Charlty Commlssion registration and annual
reporting, completing fundlng appllcatlons and project action planning. Regular emalls go out to
educate and provide groups with advice, guldance, Informatlon of activities and events, training and
fundlng. TADA also provlde on-golng support to Rural community groups with the DAERA Rural Mlcro
Capital Grant Scheme, this year TADA had 108 appllcatlons that recelved up to £1,500 towards
projects tackllng Issues of poverty and social isolation, and or implementlng energy efflclency
measures/envlronmental Improvements.
TADA Is one of seven Rural Support Network provlders In Northern Ireland awarded the DAEFiA
Rural Community Development Support Service contracted to provide local communlty development
support and an advlce servlce to the rural communltSes. TADA supports the sustainabillty of vlbrant
rural communlties, by provldlng Information, advocary, capaclty building and partnershlp working.
TADA primarily work in the rural areas of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon areas but we also have
joint contract with our sister network, County Down Rural Support Network, to work in Lisburn
and Castlereagh rural areas.
Llsburn and Castlereagh Clty Councll have provided TADA wlth a grant each year of approx. £2,000
and Armagh City, Banbridge and Cralgavon Councll have provlded TADA wlth a grant of approx.
£8,136 towards runnlng costs and programme costs each year.
Other highlights of the year Include:
MULTICULTURAL DAY
TADA were successful with funding from The Community Relations Councll to hold a multlcultural
day on Saturday 1st October 2022 In Mlllennlum Court Art Centre. Our event was very successful
and improved communlty relatlons In the area by brlnging together a cross section of the populatlon
to network, talk, dance, and experience a diverse range of cultural Culslnes, music, dance and art
and crafts. The event promoted awareness and understandlng of different backgrounds and cultures
throu
h informatlon and workshop activitles.

DART PARTNERSHIP PROJECT - Creating Sustalnable Communities
TADA worked alongslde DART to support them with consultation work to apply for £252,000
National Lottery Cornmunity Fund investment. The Creatlng Sustainable Communltles program will
Involve DART and TADA worklng with a range of stakeholders and partners to create five community
hubs across the Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon area. After a series of COVID related delays, the
first of these hubs occurred on Wednesday 18th May 2022 and focused on gatherlng information on
what serVI￿S gmups requlred In thelr area. This event had a wlde range of activities throughout
including Farm Family Health Checks, Healthy Kldz and talks from Actlon Mental Health's Colln
Loughran.
Good Practice Visit$
TADA brought three groups on a Good pract1￿ vlslt to varSous locations and other groups In
Northern Ireland to get a better understandlng of how other groups do things on a day-to-day basis.

Ongolng Training Opportunltles
TADA funded opportunltles for groups to get varlous quallfications such as flrst ald, food hygiene and
marshal tralnlng.
Fire Safety: Warm Hunb Event - Electrical Safety Fund
TADA got fundlng from Electrlcal Safety First to host a Warm Hub Event in Brownlow Community
Hub on January 25th 2023. The event gave everyone the chance to come alongi have a cup of tea
and get informatlon from local organlsatSons on how to stay safe and warm for the rest of wlnter.
The fundlng also enabled us to glve heaters, electrlc blankets and rechargeable hot water bottles to
over 30 groups who had filled out our expression of Interest. This means there would be around 160
households who benefited from the items alone.
Partnership with Healthy Kidz
Through the Dfc Jobstart Scheme, TADA were able to hire a staff member that worked part-time
with Healthy Kidz. This allowed us to run programmes such as armchair aerobics with our member
groups that recelved posltive revlews all round.

TADA were delighted and honoured to be nominated for the Community Relations Council's 2023
Good Relations Awards. We were a part of an expanded Awards programme that saw the council
working together with partners In The Executlve Office, NICVA, NI Youth Forum, Volunteer Now and
The Community Foundatlon for Northern Ireland.
Nornlnations for awards opened on 8th November 2022 and TADA was announced as a runner up in
March for the Good Relatlons ConnettSng Communities Project of the Year Award. We are beyond
grateful, as we know that there are many groups and organisations out there worklng Just as hard
as we are.

Financial Review
Financial Performanc•
At the end of the finanlcal year the company had assets of £182,714 {2022 - £147,583) and
liablllties of £22,144 (2022 - £1,373). The net assets of the compnay have increased by £14,361.
Reserves Pollcy
The tustees have confirmed £80,000 as the level of free reserves that the charity alms to have on
an ongolng basls. The trustees belleve thls level of free reserves Is essentlal to cover running costs
and redundancles should funding cease.
Structure, Governance and Management
Organlsational structura
The charitable company Is a company limited by guarantee, not havlng a share capital.
The charltable company was establlshed under a Memorandum of Assoclation whlch establlshed the
objects and powers of the charitable company and Is governed under Its Artlcles of Assoclation.
In accordance with the Artlcles of Assoclation, the members to reti￿ by rotatlon shall be those who
have been longest in offlce since thelr last electlon, and the relevant motlon wlll be put at the Annual
General Meeting. A ￿tIring member shall be ellglble for re-electlon.
Dlrectors
The Dlrectors during the year are the same as the Trustees as listed on page 3.
Taxation Status
The charltable corrpany Is recognlsed as a charlty by HM Revenue & Customs. Accordingly, the
charitable company has availed of the exemptions contalned In Chapter 3 Part 11 Corporation Taxes
Att 2010 and Sectlon 256 Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992.

The Direttors are responsible for preparlng the flnancial statements In accordance wlth appllcable
law and Unlted Kingdom Accountlng Standards (Unlted Klngdom Generally Accepted Accountlng

glve a true and fair view of the state of the affalrs of the charltable company and of the incoming
resources and appllcatlon of resources, Including the income and expenditure, of the charitable

I. GENERAL INFORMATION
The Antrlm Down and ARmagh Rural Support Network (T.A.D.A.) Is a charitable company
limlted by guarantee Incorporated in Northern Ireland. In the event of the charltable company
belng wound up, the liabillty In respett of the guarantee Is limlted to £1 per member of the
charltable company. The address of the reglstered Off1￿ is as shown on page 3.
2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The followlng accountlng polScles have been applled conslstently In dealing wlth Items whlch are
considered materlal In relatlon to the charitable company's flnanclal statements.
2.1 statement of Compllance
The flnanclal statements have been prepared in accordance with Accountlng and Reporting by
Charftes., Statement of Recommended Practlce (SORP) appllcable to charitles preparlng thelr
flnanclal statements In accordance wlth the Financlal Reporting standard applicable In the UK
and Republlc of Ireland (FRS 102) effectlve l January 2021 (Second Editlon), the Flnanclal
Reportlng Standard appllcable In the Unlted Klngdom and Republlc of Ireland (FRS 102) and the
Companies Act 2006.
2.2 Basls of Preparation
The financlal statements are prepared on a golng concern basls under the h5storlcal cost
convention unless otherwlse stated In the relevant accountlng pollcy. Hlstorlcal cost Is generally
based on the falr value of the conslderatlon glven In exchange for assets. The followlng
accountlng pollcles have been applled consistently in dealing wlth items which are consldered
material In relation to the charitable company's flnanclal statements.
2.3 Cash Flow Statement
The charltable company has applied Update Bulletln 2 as publlshed on 5th Ottober 2018
(effective l January 2019) and does not Include a cash flow statement on the grounds that It Is
applying FRS 102 Sectlon IA.

2.4 Income and Endowments
(i) Charitable Actlvitles
Income from charltable act5vltles Includes Income recelved under contract or where entitlement
to grant funding is subject to speciflc performance conditlons. It Is recognlsed as earned as the
related servltrs or goods are provlded. Grant Income Is recognlsed In the Statement of Financlal
Actlvltles when recelvable. Grant Income Included in this category provides funding to support
projects and Is recognlsed where there Is entitlernent, certalnty of recelpt and the amount can
be measured wlth sufficlent rellabllity.
(li) Other Income
other Income Is recognlsed In the Statement of Flnancial Actlvitles where there Is entitlement,
certalnty of recelpt and the amount can be measured wlth sufflclent rellablllty.
2.5 Expendlture
Expendlture Is recognlsed when a liabllity is incurred. Contractual arrangements and
perforrnance related grants are recognlsed as goods and servlces afft supplied. Where costs
cannot be dlrectly attrlbuted to a partlcular headingi they have been allocated to activltles on a
basis consistent with use of resources. Staff costs and overhead expenses are allocated to
actlvlties on the basls of staff tlme spent on those activltles.
(l) Charltable Activlties
This comprises all the resources applled by the charltable company In undertaklng Its work to
meet Its charltable objectlves. CharStable actlvlties wlll Include the costs of governance
arrangements whlch relate to the general runnlng of the charltable company.
2.6 Fund Accounting
The charltable company has two types of funds for whlch it Is responslble at the year-end:
Unrestricted Funds - Funds whlch are expendable at the dlscretlon of the Board of Directors in
furtherance of the objectives of the charltable company. In addltlons, funds may be held In
order to finance capital investment and worklng capital.

Income recelved for speclflc purposes, Such purposes are wlthin the
overall alms of the charitable company.
2.7 Propertyi Plant and Equlpment and Depreciatlon
All property, plant and equipment are Inltlally recorded at cost.
Depreclation Is provlded at rates calculated to wrlte off the cost less resldual value of each asset
over Its expected useful Ilfe, as follows;

2.8 Trade and Other Recelvables
Trade and other recelvables are Inltlally recorded at falr value and thereafter stated at cost less
impalrment losses for bad and doubtful debts.
2.9 Trade and Other Payables
Trade and other payables are Inltlally recognlsed at falr value and thereafter stated at cost.
2.10 Taxation
As a charlty, the charltable company is not liable to Corporatlon Tax.
2.11 Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equlvalents Include cash In hand, éeposlts held at call wlth banks, other short
term hlghly liquld investrnents wlth orig5nal maturlties of three months or less.
2.12 Finance Costs
Finance Costs are charged to the Statement of Financlal Actlvltles over the term of the debt.

2.13 Financlal instruments
(l) Flnancia l assets
Baslc financial assets, Includlng trade and other recelvables, cash and bank balances and
amounts owed by related partles and are Inltlally recognlsed at transactlon pr1￿, unless the
arrangement constitutes a flnanclng transaction, where the transactlon Ss measured at the
present value of the future recelpts dlscounted at a market rate of Interest. Such assets are
subsequently carrled at amortlsed cost uslng the effectlve Interest method.
At the end of each reportlng perlod flnanclal assets measured at amortlsed cost are assessed for
objectlve evldence of Impalrment. If an asset Is Impalred the Smpalment loss Is the dlfference
between the carrylng amount and the present value of the estlmated cash flows dlscounted at
the asset's origlnal effectlve Interest rate, The Impalrment loss Is recognlsed In proflt or loss,
If there Is decrease In the Impairment loss arlslng from an event occurrlng after the Impalmient
was recognlsed, the Impairment Is reversed. The reversal Is such that the current carrylng
amount does not exceed what the carrylng amount would have been had the impalrment not
prevlously been recognlsed. The Impalrment reversal is recognlsed In proflt or loss.
Flnanclal assets are derecognlsed when (a) the contractual rlghts to the cash flows from the
asset explfft or are settled, or (b) substantially all the rlsks and rewards of the ownershlp of the
asset are transferred to another party or (c) desplte havlng retalned sorne signlflcant rlsks and
rewards of ownershipi control of the asset has been transferred to another party who has the
practlcal ablllty to unilaterally sell the asset to an unrelated thlrd party wlthout Imposlng
addltlonal restrl ctlons,
(li) Flnanclal liablllties
Baslc financlal Ilabilitles, including trade and other payables, bank loans and overdrafts and
amounts owed to related partles a￿ initlally recognlsed at transactlon price, unless the
arrangement constltutes a financing transaction, where the debt Instrument Is measured at the
present value of the future recelpts dlscounted at a market rate of Interest. Debt Instruments
are subsequently carrled at amortlsed cost, uslng the effective Interest rate method. Fees pald
on the establishment of loan faclllties are recognised as transactlon costs of the loan to the
