Trustees Annual Report For the period 1st August 2022 to 31st July 2023

Bunnahone Bunnies Playgroup is based at Tir Navar Complex in Derrygonnelly, Co. Fermanagh. Governed by our Constitution, we are community based and self-funding with a parent management Committee, some of who are Trustees of the Charity.

The trustees present during this reporting period are Norman Donaldson and Melissa McGinley. Throughout the year the Trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for its guidance on public benefit to ensure the activities help to achieve the Charity's purposes and benefit the beneficiaries.

The Charity's purpose is to provide safe, satisfying way of learning through play for 3 to 5 year old pre-school children in the Derrygonnelly and surrounding areas (these being the beneficiaries), without regard to religious affiliation or other beliefs of the families concerned.

The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: Preparation of each child for primary education through achieving the basic skills of communication, expression, problem solving and the ability to relate to other children and adults.

The benefits are evident from the following:

• Feedback provided to the parents by the Leader for each child throughout the year with a scheduled parents evening

• Inspections, evaluations, and feedback are carried out by Early Year Advisors, Social Services and the Educational and Training inspectorate Throughout the year at each session the playgroup provided the following activities through which each child learns through play:

• Books & storytelling (local WELB library bus visits where each child chooses a book to bring home at weekends)

These activities improved the following abilities:

*hand /eye coordination

*talking

*listening

*agility and strength

The Management Committee holds crucial fund-raising activities throughout the year to support the finances required to run the playgroup. In addition, there is a reserve of monies to ensure a cash flow and a contingency for unforeseen expenses which occur.

Over this past year we held our annual Christmas Sticks draw, Christmas Table Quiz , an Easter raffle, and a Mid term disco. We also performed a weekends bagpacking in our local Asda, all of which proved to be a hugely successful. In total we have raised £4,188. In addition to this we received some small grants to the value of £2,751.

The Trustees are grateful to all the parents for their continued support and assistance throughout the year and local businesses who have helped contribute to our fundraising efforts. We would also like to give special thanks to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council for their . financial assistance through the available grant schemes
