Report for the year 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025
Friends of Parkview was set up to support pupils of Parkview Special School aged 4 – 19. It is our aim to advance the education and development of all children by supporting the teachers with the appropriate resources to encourage increased independence and self-esteem.
Friends of Parkview also aims to develop relationships with both adults and peers in order to help the pupils to gain social interaction skills and to encourage and foster a life long love of learning.
Friends of Parkview is governed by a constitution, agreed by committee on 19 November 2014. The constitution follows the Model Constitution for ParentTeacher Associations in Northern Ireland.
Main Expenditure was restricted to covering the costs of the Minibus Insurance, Servicing and Maintenance, Music therapy, The new celebration garden plus forest school maintenance, with the help of The McClay Foundation, financing the Summer Scheme - so our outlays were kept down.
Ring fenced funds for the hydropool while we continue to work with the Ea on how this project will proceed. (Current approximate time frame 18months)
We have continued to focus on mental health and well-being for both pupils and staff and this will be an ongoing focus for the next year.
