EAST BELFAST HISTORICAL SOCIETY
TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT 2023 - 2024
The objects of the Society as set out in the Constitution are to advance education and promote the benefit of the people of the East Belfast area and their environs in Belfast, particularly with regard to local and national history.
Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 who supports the above objects, irrespective of ethnic identity, disability, age, gender, political opinion, nationality, sexual orientation, marital status or religion.
The Society operates in East Belfast, but members and visitors from other areas are welcome and may attend our monthly meetings which are usually held from September to May.
From September 2022, we secured new premises for our meetings in the Belmont Bowling Club in East Belfast. Our thanks go to the Bowling Club and in particular to their secretary, Stephen Walker, for his assistance in making the necessary arrangements.
Having secured new premises, we have resumed our normal routine of monthly meetings, with the usual varied programme of talks on topics of local interest.
The Society does not meet from June to September, and during these months a bulletin is issued to members to keep them up-to-date with any developments. It also includes short articles of local interest contributed by members or contacts outside the Society.
The Trustees of the East Belfast Historical Society confirm that they have complied with their duty in accordance with the Constitution.
Approved and signed on behalf of the Trustees.
