## Activities

**Purposes:** The objects of the Company are: The Relief of Poverty and distress.  The protection of Health.  The advancement of education by:-  Furnishing, maintaining and equipping centres for the promotion of recreational, educational and cultural pursuits.  Provision of assistance in the providing of courses, instruction, lectures and classes in literacy, social skills, crafts or academic studies designed to meet the particular needs of the unemployed persons.  The promotion of Research into the causes of unemployment by initiating surveys on employment matters and disseminating the useful results of such surveys. to promote benefit of the inhabitants of Northern Ireland (hereinafter called &#x27;the area of benefit&#x27;) without distinction of sex or of political religious or other opinions by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.
