SHINE confirms that all trustees have had regard to the Commissions Public Benefit
requirement statutory guidance.
Our expenditure in 22123 was £21,223.49 and our income was £19377.37
and we carried over £5406.26 from 21122 which resulted in an overall closing
balance of £ £ 3560.14 to be carried forward to 23124.
SHINE Autism Support Group provide services which our children are very often
excluded from due to their additional needs. We run a summer scheme, organise
training via other organisations, day trips, social skills training, self-esteem training
as well as providing a parents support group with childminding facilities for child with
autism and their siblings.
Autism is a lifelong disability which affects the social and communication centre of
the brain. SHINE aims to support parents of children with ASD both pre and post
diagnosis. To increase public awareness of the condition. To support children and
young people with ASD and their siblings.

In the year 22123 SHINE funded
We held a quiz to raise money for a child who needed an urgent diagnosis but
could not afford it we run a quiz with all prO￿edS donated to the parent of this
child. £300 raised.
Due to COVID we were unable to run our yearly disco so run a number of
raffles throughout the year. We raised £5077.37
We held a summer scheme for two weeks which was attended by 120
children and provided the children with water play, Digital Skills workshops
Pizza making, Party Bus, Gaming Bus, Amazon Jungle, trip to jumping jacks,
Arts and Crafts, Cookery classes We rented St Clares Nursery premises for
our summer scheme which was ideal as we had a sensory garden and room
divisions which worked out well.
We run a 26 week youth group on Thursday nights.
We attended Antrim Castle as a family trip on a night dedicated to children
with additional needs.
Income
Unrestricted income in the year was £5377.37.
Restricted income from Children in Need was £14,000 which included funding
for activities for the summer scheme as well as insurance costs and staff
costs for the summer scheme. Also £4,000 from GP federation to run a
teenage youth club.
Total income £19377.37.

SHINE has its own constitution which was developed in 2015 and is a working document
that guides the activities organised by SHINE.
