Objective5 and Artlvitles
The charitable purpose ol the Church of Ireland is the advancement of reli8ion.
The principal function of st Bartholomew Church, tjonaghmore Parish is to support the advancement of the
Christian religion by promotin8. throLrgh the work o15t Bartholomew Church. Donaghmofe Parish, the whole
mission of the Church, Pasloral. evan8elisiic. social and ecumenical. Being open to and en8agin8 Wlth society as
a whole and offerin8 SUPPOrt for those needin8 help are fundamental to Ihe pra￿lCa1 delivery of the benefit5 of
Christianity.
As a result of activity in ihe pursuit of the advancement of the Chrisiian religion. St Bartholomew Chur¢h.
Dona8hrnore Parish has custody of property and of records. materials and anefacts of significance to the cultural
and reli8lOU5 heritage. Maintenance of which is undertaken by the Select Vestry ol st 8artholomew Church.

The Parish continued to have regular Services of Worship throu8hout the year 2023. This yeaf we continued to
meet every Sundav except for one Sunday where the Groupeil Parise5 of A8hader8. Oona8hmore and Scarva
came together to a Joint service and lunch ai Donaghmore Church to mark the Coronatton of King Charles 111.
Services ¢eased to be broadcast each week on the Parish Youtube Channel except when specifically requested
or a special service was takin8 place. There were 521511 Sunday Services ol Worship in 2023120221 with an
avera8e con8regation of 241231. The average number of Communicants each month was 151181. As well a5 7
1610(casional Services. 0101 Baptism5 and 0101 Marrta8e. there wa5 3191 burials 10 Parishioners. 3 N¢n
Pari5hionersl. On Christmas Eve evenin& a se￿ice was held in Donaghmore and the attendance wa5 281281.
Pastoral work coniinued ihroughoul 2023 with very little restrictions due to Covid. The priority ol the Minister
In- Charge is the elderly. the sick and the bereaved. ￿her vi51tin8 takes place as and when time permits.
The Parish celebrated the Coronation with a 'Coronation Lunch, 35 pan ol the nationwide '8ig Lunch. to
commemorate Hi5 Majesty Kin8 Charles 111. A successful application wa5 made to the Department of
Communities and a grant of £S.(#XJ was secured to fund this event. This wa5 well attended with Parishioner5
and Non- Parishioners from across the Grouped Parish and ihe local community. Marquees and caterer5 were
hired and an approximate number of 180 persons Joined us lor lunch. Dona8hrnore Accofdion Band provided
rnusi¢ as part of the celebrations and ihere were arts, crafts, 'ieddy bearf making activities. facepainiing and
garden 8•mes to entertain all. A tree was planted in ihe Church Gravtyard by the Select Vestry.
A Sunday School has been operatin8 since Autumn 2022 and now meets every Sunday excepi for the monthly
Family Service. The Sunday School ieachers have been veited throu8h Acce$5 Nl and we have off¢ce¥5 in place in
Ilne with the Church of Ireland Policy on Safe¥uarding Trust.

In Auiumn 2023, a short eible Study serles was lfttrodLKed and was held In the Reciory. All three parlshe5 in the
Group were represented at Ih05e rneetin¢s and li wa5 a eood ilrne S￿nt with othen seekin8 to further develop
their faith in Je5US.

A special service was held In Aghaderg Church, Loughbrickland of 'Royal Hymn5' to mark the
Coronation of King Charle5111 with special guests attending and membefs from each Church taking
part.
Repairs and general mainienance were continued on the Church property during 2023.

on public benefit to ensvre thal the actives entered into during the year have helped to achieve the
Parish's objeclNes and artivilies. as well as pioviding public benefit. The Parrsh currently provides
