We have been slowly moving out of the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and remain an active place of worship within our community. The last number of years have been very challenging for our church community but in the last year we have felt that there is light at the end of the tunnel and have begun to develop new initiatives in the life of our church.
Much in parish life is routine – we have seasons just like nature – it is great to celebrate Harvest and Christmas services. We have also been a place of refuge and solace for those who grieve the loss of ones they love having facilitated 4 funerals last year. We have also had the joy of welcoming in new families, some of whom have brought their children forward for thanksgivings or baptisms. It has also been a privilege to be the place where couples have solidified their love through marriage ceremonies – we have had two in the last year.
Our outreach activities included coffee mornings. We also open our doors to community organisations to use the buildings such as the Bowling club and Slimming World.
Whilst we have had a few issues to deal with regarding our buildings the faithful congregation have ensured that the door remains open and that the story of hope contained in the gospel message is shared with our community.
The parish is conscious of its responsibilities under Safeguarding Trust. Our social media presence attracts interest from those who are not, yet parishioners or perhaps not yet church goers and we feel this is something we could develop over the coming year.
