Summary of Charitable Purpose of Benburb Memorial Pipe Band
Benburb Memorial Pipe Band aims to bring Pipe Band music into Benburb and its
surrounding area for the people of the area to enjoy. Benburb Memorial Pipe band
also encourage people to have the opportunity to leam to play the pipes and drums
and to be a part of the Band. New members are welcome in order to keep up the
pipe band tradition that has been established in Benburb and is well respected and
cherished. Benburb Memorial Pipe Band actively promotes all Ulster Scots traditions
and culture and in particular pipe band music
Detalls of the Charites Constitutlon
Benburb Memorial Pipe Band is a constituted group last amended October 2015 and
provided to the Charity Commission. The constitutlon outlines our purpose,
management and membership (including membership rules).
Financial Review
In compliance with our constitution and charitable requlrements accounts of the
finances were kept, reported and agreed at the AGM on 8th October 2018 in an
Annual Ststement of Accounts. An Independent Examiners Report has also been
provided.
Administrative Details
Benburb Memorial Pipe Band held its AGM on 8th October 2018.
The Band Committee was elected on 8th October 2018 at the AGM under the
chaimianship of the Worshipful Master of Benburfo LOL NO 4.

Public Benefit StatementlDeclaration
The public benefit from the activities of Benburb Memorial Pipe Band remains the
same and includes
the enrichment of the cultural lives of the general public of Benburb and the
surrounding area with pipe band music and musical performances.
a standard to musicianship attained by members of the band through
participating of tuilion and practice organised by the band as well. as
feedback on the enjoyment and approval of the general public on listening to
public performances.
There are no private benefits excepl some benefits that are incidental such as the
personal development of musical skills by individuals that can be used in higher
educational attainment at school in the subject of music and also private hire of
individuals for musical performances. These are incidental and necessary as each
individual band members will need to acquire these musical skills to be able to play
with other band members as a band.
The charity's beneficiaries are the general public in Benburb and the surroundlng
area.

Achievements
Benburb Memorial Pipe Band successfully brought pipe band music into Benburb
and its surrounding area for the people of the area to enjoy. We organised a parade
in Benburb village with 15 other ulster scots band and watched by many members of
the local community. We also took part in a series of other public performances
mainly other local parades with other ulster scots bands.
Benburb Memorial Pipe band also provided people wlth the opportunity to learn to
play the pipes and drums and to be a part of the Band by providing regular tuition
and practice.

I report on the accounts of Benburb Memorial Pipe Band for the year ended 31$t
March 2018.
Respectlva r•sponsibilities of charity trustees and examiner
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordan￿ with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
It is my responsibility to..
examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act
follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission
under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act
Q state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent examiner's report
I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities
Act and my examination was carried out in accordan￿ with the general Directions
given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the
Charities Act.
My examination included a review of the accounting records kepl by the charity and
a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking
explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters.
My role is lo state whethe," any material matters have come to my attention giving me
cause to believe..
1 . That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the
Charities Act
