CHARITABLE PURPOSES
Sarsfields Community Hall Management Group is s charity established to relieve poverty. sickness and
the oged and to promote the benefit of the inhabitant5 of the Derrytrasna and district area of Co.
Armagh by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organi53tions and inhabitants in a common
effort to..

provide facillties In the interests of social welfare for recreatlon or other leisure-time
occupation with the object of improving the condltions of life for the said inhabitants:
to maintaln and manage Sarsflelds Communlty Hall or to co-operate with any local statutory
authority in the maintenance and management of such a Centre for activities promoted bv
the Association and its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objects.
The Association 15 governed by its constitution. The management committee is also the Charity
Trustees for the purpose of charity law and all glve thelr tlme voluntarlty.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES FOR YEAR ENDING I FEBRUARY 2023 TO 31 JANUARY 2024
The Sarsfields Community Hall Management Group has now completed fourteen years of runnlng
Sarsf ields Hall and maximising use of the hall for the local community,
December 2023 saw the Chrlstmas Tree switch on event with Santa and Craft Fayre and the Senior
Citizens, Christmas dinner took place.
Out St, Patrick's Day event also took place and was a great success with collaboration from the Youth
Club Leaders. A number of actlvities took place in the Hall over the year including a 6-week pilates
course, local hlstory book launch, baby café, line dancing classes, Senior Citizens, Club, Youth Club,
Irish dancing classes, The Hall was also available for birthday party bookings. The Hall continues to
be well used bythe whole comrnunity for a range of activities.
Electrical work was completed, flreflghting equipment checked and a fire risk assessment carrled
out. We are worklng towards additional improvements to the Hall, particularly in relation to ener
efficiency.
Thank you to all who have supported the Hall over the year including Armagh, Banbridge and
Criagavon Borough Councll and to our local community. Thanks are a150 due to the committee
members for thelr dedication and hard work. We ask you all for your continued support.
PUBLIC BENEFIT
The Trustees believe that the public contlnue to benefit from the acllvitles outllned above in
accordance with our purposes and objects. Through our work the beneflciarles l.e. those living in the
area of benefit of Derrytrasna and its environs, have ac￿sSed a variety of actlvitles and classes
therefore reducin8 rural and social isolation, increase usage of a vital community resource out of
which community activity is focussed, increase in active citizenship and volunteering, increase in new
skills and interests and improvement in quality of life.

FINANCES
Our financial perforrnance ha5 been sound. Income has been obtained through grants from Armagh,
Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council and through hall rental and donations. Costs have been
managed carefully to ensure we have a small surplus for the year.
