Th¢ so¢iety has been established for cI￿ltable purposes only. The sociery is established to ￿lieve the poverty of
widows and orphans of [￿$0￿8 killed by Violen￿ in North¢rn Ir¢land who Are in Deces51t0￿8 circumsLItm.
Th¢r¢ ar¢ ¢wr¢ntly 25 widows on th¢ roll of the tyiety ip County Tyrot* and each year we 8ive them a
Christmas Qrant, provide them with a gift ¢h¢que prior to Easter, tske them out for a meal and S￿la] fvnction in
the late Sprin8 and s¢nd th¢m a maiDt¢naD¢¢ grant dvring the surnmer if funds permit to deal with nornial
houselK)Id expenses. The grants are personally delivered by Trus*¢ members in their respective areas. Our Bocial
funciion was discontinued during Covid but w¢ k¢pi in r¢gular ¢onts¢t to deal with any n¢ed5 or ¢otscern5 that
ati$e froth tijne to time. This S<*ial ittternctiott BJve8 the widows tk opp)rtunity to speak to others who hav¢
¢on¢ern8 about th¢ir w¢Lfar¢ and build r¢lationships that oth¢rwi% would Dever hav¢ been possible.

During this reporting ycar t>owever. it still wasn't CL)nsid¢r¢d advisablc to visit th¢ widows fojlowing thc
pandemic, bui this will b¢ thkcn up again soon. However, we continued to s¢nd th¢m their summ¢r Maint¢n￿¢¢
ant and Ihe Christmas 8rani alott8 With a cbeque ￿ Easter to trcat th¢ms¢lv¢s in what¢v¢r way th¢y f¢lt lik¢
parntKring themselves. Regular phone contact was kept in plxe and the resp)ns¢s ￿¢¢iV¢d in l¢tt¢rs and E.mails
acknowled8ed the beDefit of this peT50td stspport. UllfortuThately. we ￿111 have been uttable to hold the aJ￿u*l
dinner since the pandemic and thi5 was greatly tnissed by those who regularly attended. Fortunately. some of our
re8ular contributors were able to return to support our fundraisins durins the past year and hdp r¢pl¢nish our
fvnds whicb got 50mewhai depleted tsver the Covid peri(MJ.
The attached financial accounts show the amount of donatitstts received from various sour¢e& This varies from
ycar to year as does our expense5 but our tsrget ¢a¢h year is now around £6.000 which allows us to caTry Out our
main COT¢ activities. This year for th¢ re&sons ststed at¥)v¢ we brought ID nearly £9,000 where the PTevious y¢ar
ther¢ w8s a deficit of Approximately £2,(KIO. Our expenses this year were £6.242. As a result of the in¢r¢as¢d

In Got*lu5ion the TN5t¢es have given carefvl consid¢rdtiOD to the Charity Commission for Nortbern trejand's
guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities entered into dllrin8 the year have helped to achieve their
objectives and activities. ￿ well as providing public benefit and would concur that thes¢ have been met during
2023 by the Vario￿ activities in which we are engaged.
