The financial statements comply with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and 2013, the Memorandum and Artidès of Association and Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Under these laws the directorsnrustees have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under these laws the directorsftwstees must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the surplus or deficit of the company for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the directorsnrustees are required to-. select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently- mak8 judgements and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent,. state whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommènded practice have been followed subject to any departures disclosed and 8xplained in the financial statements., prepare the financial statem8nts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business. The directorsltrustees have overall responsibility for ensuring that the charitable company has appropriate systems of control, financial and otherwise. They are also responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose Wlth reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of thè charity and enable them to ensure the financial statements comply with the appropriate accounting standards. They are also responsible for the safeguarding of assels of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Charitable purpose To promote the benefit of the community in the Aughakillymaude district of County Fermanagh. To promote the benefit and interests of the inhabitants of the area of benefit, without distinction of age, sex. race, political or religious or other opinions by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, institutions and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for health, recreation, social, moral and intellectual developmènt with th8 object of improving the conditions of life of the inhabitants of the area of benefit. Public Benefit Th8 direct b8n8ffts which flow from the groups purposes indude provision of a range of social, educational and recreational activities mainly based within Aughakillymaude Community Centre for members of the local community living within the community of Aughakillymaude and surrounding district, providing them with th8 Opportunity to avail of activilies that improve their educational attainment, health. social intèraction and their conditions of life through accessing services and adivities that would not nomially be made available to them. Examples of aGtivitie$ provided being social dancing, historical talks, murnming aclivities, funeral teas, family parties, anniversary parties, keep fit, famiers infomiation courses & talks, health fairs, music & storytelling sessions, and used by other charitable bodies for activities and functions. Many of these activities are organised by the association linking with other statutory organisations and voluntary organisations. Benefits of the activities are eVIden￿d by measurement of numbers participaling in activities and re￿Iving of feedback from partiGipanls. The only privaté benefit flowing from our purposes are that Aughakillymaude Community Association members and their families can participate in all activities and this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all members of the distrrct can potentially benefit. There is no ham flowing from the purposes of Aughakillymaude Comrnunty Association. W8 hav6 had regard to the Commission's guidari on public benefit. Maln achlevements In the year A number of successfijl event W8r8 carri6d out during the year, including a Santa Sunday. TP"Maguire memorial quiz and a family day event. The association re￿iVed donations and a nurnbèr of r8ntal payments for the hall and apartment during the yéar. The association retained an adequate bank balan￿ at the year end and does not anticipate any issues in continuing as a going 0)n￿rn in the for8seeabl8 future. It is the hope of the trustees that activities begin to return to pre-covid levels. Members, Fund At the y8ar end, Aughakillymaude Community Association had a members. fund of £310,556. It is the policy of the Aughakillymaude Communty Association to retain a level to cover any unforeseen expenditure and allow the charity to continue in operation. Summary for tho year During th8 year ended 31 March 2024, Aughakillymaude Communty Association prOdU￿d a deficit of (£8,252) (2023: (£7,455)). Income increased by £2,300.
