The trustees present their Trustees, Annual Report and the unaudited financial statements for the year ended 31
March 2023. The financial statements have been prepared in accordan￿ with the accounting policies set out in Note
110 the financial statements and comply wilh the company's Articles of Association, the Companies Act 2006, Part 8
of the Charities Act (Northem Ireland} 2008, olher applicable law and the requirements of the Statement of
Recommended Practice (SORP}, FRS102 and with the financial reporting standards applicable lo charities preparing
their a￿ountS.
GOVERNING DOCUMENT
The organisation is a private charitable company limited by gLtarantee, having been incorporated on 7 Altgust 2013.
The company was established under a Memorandum of Association which eslablished the objects and powers of the
charitable company and is governed under its Article of Association. In Ihe event of the company being wound up
members are required to conliibute an amount not exceeding £1.
Structure. Governance and Management
The charity is committed to the principles of Corporate Governance,. and through the development of various
manuals. will caplure all internal and external processes and procedures. The delailing of the company's activities in
this way will ensure we follow best praclice guidelines arsd demonstrate appropriate openness. transparency and
accountability in all of our business activities.
Embracing Corporale Govemance ensures that as an organisation we adhere to Ihe highest standards of integrity in
carrying out our business and managing our finances. The company is fully aware of its responsibilities and the need
for accountability. particulady in relation to the management of public money.
Principal Risks and Uncertaintie$
The directors have conducted a review of the major risks to which the charity is exposed. Appropriate systems and
inlemal controls are in place throughout the charity's processes and procedures lo provide clear accountability and to
mitigate tb.fjse risks which the charity fa￿$.
The c., iarity seeks to maintain high standards in Ihe management of risk and the processes 1.1 place are reviewed
annually to ensure Iheir relevance

Obje¢tives and Activities
The objects of Involve (Nl) as set out in our Articles is the promotion of education, training and personal development
wilh a view to enabling the community to enhance their social and personal skills, develop and participate in valued
roles in the community and achieve a level of independen￿.
Involve (Nl) also aims lo advance citizenship and community development through the provision of opportunities for
social interaction and social inclusion which support. enrich and empower the community.. and Ihe development of
programmes with other partnerships and provision of servi￿S which promote choice, opportunity. independence,
equality and health and wellbeing.
Public Benefit statsment
In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year the trustees have given careful consideration lo the
Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit to ensure activities have helped to achieve the
charily's purpose and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
InVOLve (Nl) is solely run by volunleers who ensure InVOLve meel their objeclives.
InVOLve (Nl) has three venues which calers for the local community and facilitales Mid Ulsler Volunteer Centre and
The Base.
InVOLve (Nll was set up to meet the needs of the community crealing a shared space for those living with a disability
andlor disadvantage.
InVOLve {Nl) enables community integration in a shared space for people from all backgrounds and COTnmunities
regardless of age. disability, gender, sexual orientation. religion. race or where they live.
Achievements and Perforniance
This annual report will give an overview of Ihe work of InVOLve (Nl) during 2022 - 2023. InVOLve (Nll believe Ihal
they are meeting their objectives.
InVOLve {Nll have 3 premises in Antrim. Cookstown and in particular InVOLve House. Magherafelt.
Involve House is a comfflunty building. open to the public which is used for a number of purposes such as training,
workshops and meeting rooms etc. It is solely run by volunteers who wotl( tirelessly to ensure thal InVOLve House
caters for everyone's needs. Groups use the facilities for training, workshops and meelings, etc. The number of
groups using the building has improved but is not back fully to where it was pre-pandemic. Our premises are open 5
days per week. including weekends when required lo accommodale those groups and organisations who are using
the building.
We still carry oul risk assessments as we are very conscious that some of the most vulnerable attend activities al our
premises to ensure maximum safety for volunleers and other users of the building. These procedures have remained
in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing for all those who avail of the building.
Mid Ulster Volunteer Centre used the facilities when lockdown eased for their Carefully Yours Project for over 55s.
Carefully Yours had reduced activities and reduced numbers due to social distancing.

InVOLve {Nl} continue OLJr partnership with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust {NHSCT) with The Base in
Antrim. where adults with a leaming disability can meel and make friends in their own community and avail of
structured activities. Generally, people attend a Base as part of a package of community-based day seNices on the
days when Ihey are not at college, volunteering, in a social enterprise or in supported employment. InVOLve (Nl)
conlinues to seek funding to offer The Base service users training which will enhance their personal development and
overall wellbeing.
As part of our SeNice Level Agreement with the NHSCT we received a one-off non recurrent investment of £5.000
which we used for activities lo promole Ihe health and wellbeing of the Servi￿ users in line with the 5 steps to
wellbeing. This investment enabled us to hold activities such as music workshops. training in personal development
and a visual arts project, etc.
We were delighted to feceive a one off non-recurring payment from the NHSCT in recognition of the financial
pressures being faced by the Community and Voluntary Seclor.
We were delighted to receive the Community Venues Granl from Mid Ulster Distticl Council, which helped with the
ever increasing running costs of InVOLve House, in addition to this we received one off conlribulion to mitigate some
of the rising cost of living pressures.

Financtal Review
In 2022123 total incoming resources were £82,729 (202112022-. £73.359>
During the year the charity wa5 fortunate enough to receive support from a number of sources including the Northern
Health and Social Care Trusl, Mid Ulster Council.
Total expenditure for 2022123 was £85.704 (2021122: £71.751)
The charity was in a reasonably healthy financial position at the year-end, with current assets of £41,214
The trustees confimi that since the year-end. it is not aware of any events thdi would have a matetsal delfimentsl
impact on its position.
Reserves policy
The trustees of Involve (Nl) have set a reseNes policy which requires..
The charity to mainlain a level of reserves which meets the needs of the project both at the current time and in Ihe
foreseeable future. The level of reserves held are based on the need to fund unexpected expenditure and to ensure
that it can fund any shortfalls in income. should income nol reach expected levels.
The Board ol Direclors will be responsible for monitoring the level of reselves on a monlhly basis.
This policy will be reviewed every three years in line with Ihe strategic planning cycle.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECLARATION
ON UNAUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
The trustees are responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
Company law requires the trustees as the directors to prepare financial slatements for each financial year. Under that
law the trustees have elecled to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally
Accepted Accounting Practi￿ (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under charitable
company law the Iruslees must not approve the finan￿al statements unless they are satisfied thal Ihey give 8 true
and fair view of Ihe slate of affairs of the charity and of the nel income or expenditure of the charity for Ihal period. In
preparing these financ.ial statements. the trustees are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently;
Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent-
Observe the methods and principles in the Charites SORP..
state whether the Charities SORP (effective January 2015} in accordance with FRS 102 has been followed,.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounling records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any
time the financial position of the charity and to enable them lo ensure that the financial stalemenls comply with , and
all Regulations to be construed as one with that Act. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the
charity and hen￿ for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

In relation to the financial statements comprising the Statement of Financial Activities, the Balance Sheet, the
Accounting policies. applying them consistently and making. on a reasonable and prudent basis. the judgemenvs

operation.

OF INVOLVE (NI)
I have examined the financial stalements of the Trust for the year ended 31 March 2023, which comprise the
Statement of Financial Activities (incorporating an Income and Expenditure Account), the Balance Sheet, the
Accounting Policies and the relaled notes. These financial slatements have been prepared under the accounting
policies set out therein. The financial statements were not required lo be audiled in accordance with Part 16 of the
Companies Act 2006.
This report is made solely to the charitable company trustees, as a body, in accordan￿ wilh Chapter 3 of Part 16 of
the Companies Act 2006. Our work has been undertaken so Ihal we might compile the financial statements that we
have been engaged to compile, report to the charilable company's Board of Trustees that we have done so, and
slate those matters that we have agreed lo stale to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent
permitted by law, we do not a¢￿pt or assume fesponsibility to anyone other than the charilable company and the
charitable cornpany's Board of Trustees. as a body, for our work. or for this report.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
As explained more fully in Ihe Statement of Truslees, Responsibilities, the trustees, who are also the directors of the
charitable company, are responsible for the preparation of Ihe Trustees, Annual report and the financial statements in
accordance with applicable law and Accounting Slandards (UK and Ireland). The charitable comp2riy trustees
consider an audit is not required for this year under Chapter 3 of Part 16 of the Companies Act 2006 but that an
independent examination is required under that Act.

My examination work was undertaken in accordan￿ with the general directions given by Ihe Charity Commission for

records kepl by the charitable company and a comparison of the financial slatements presented wilh those records. It
also includes consideration of any unusual items or disdosures in Ihe financial statemenls and seeking explanations
from yourselves as Ihe charitable company Irustees con￿MIng any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not
provide all the evidence Ihat would be required in an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the
view given by the financial slatements.

In connection with my examination work, no maller has come to my attention=
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements lo keep proper
accounting records and lo prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and are in accordance wilh
the methods and principles set out in the Charities SORP and which comply with the requirements of section 396
of the Companies Act 2006 other than the requiremenl to give a true and fair view have not been met,. or

ACCOUNTING POLICIES

General information
The charity is a private company limited by guarantee, registered in Northern Ireland and a registered challty in
Northern Ireland. The address of the registered Offi￿ is 18 Queen Street, Magherafelt, Co Londondery, BT45 6AB.
Statement of compliance
These financial stalements have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102, "The Financial Reporting standard
applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland" The statement of Recommended Practice applicable in charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and repub5ic of
Ireland (FRS102)(Charities SORP(FRS102)) and the Charities Act (Northefn Ireland) 2008.
Involve (Nl) meets the definition of a public benefil entity under FRS 102.
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cosl convention and in accordan￿ with the
Companies Act 2006 and Part 8 of the Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008.
The financial slatements are prepared in sterling, which is Ihe functional currency of the entity.
The following accounting policies have been applied consistently in dealing with items which are considered malerial
in relation to the charitable company's financial statements.
Cash flow statement
The charitable company has availed of the exemption in FRS 102 from the requirement to Produ￿ a cash flow
statement because it is classified as a small charitable company.
Restricted funds
Restricted funds are subjected to rest, Ictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an
appeal.
Unrestricted free reserves
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the Management CommÈttee in furtherance of the general
objectives of Ihe company.
Going Concern
The charity maintains a good level of liquidity. Having considered the circumstances, the trustees consider tt
appropriate to prepare the financial statements on a going con￿rn basis. Accordingly. these financial statements do
nol include any adjustments to the carrying amounts and classification of assets and liabilities that may arise if the
chartlable company is unable to continue as a going concern.
Incoming Resources
Voluntary income or capital is included in the Slatement of Financial ActÈvities when Ihe charitable company is legally
entitled to it. its financidl value can be quantified with reasonable certainty and there is reasonable certainty of its
ultimate receipt. Enlitlement to legacie5 is considered established when the charitable company has been notified of
a distribution to be made by the execulors. Income received in advan￿ of due performance under a contract is
accounted for as deferred income until eamed. Grants for activities are reco9nised as income when the related
conditions for legal entitlement have been met. All other income is accounted for on an accruals basis.

Resources Expended
All resources expended are accounted for on an accruals basis. Charitable activities include costs of services and
grants, support costs and depreciation on related assets. Costs of generating funds similarly include fundraising
activilies. Non-staff costs not attributed to one category of activity are allocated or apportioned pro-rala to the staffing
of Ihe relevant service. Finance, HR, IT and administrative staff cosls are directly attributable to individual activities by
objective. Governan￿ costs are those associated with constitutional and slalutory requirements.

Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost or al valuation. less accumulaled deprecialion. The charge lo depreciation is
calculaled lo wrile off the original cost or valuation of tangible fixed assets, less their estimated residual value. over

POST-BALANCE SHEET EVENTS
The NHSCT Sewi￿ level agreement in relation to the Anlrim base ended on the 30th June 2023, along with
the lease of the property. The Antrim base will no longer be facililaled by Involve (Nl) from the 30, June
2023.
