Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Strangford Festival Committee

I report on the accounts of Strangford Festival Committee for the year ended 23[rd] November 2023, which are set out on page 2.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with The Charities Act (NI) 2008.

Basis of Independent Examiner’s Report

I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with general directions given by Commission Nl under section 65{9) (b) of the Charities Act.

My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters.

My role is to state whether any material matters have come to their attention giving cause to believe:

Report of the Trustees and Approval Note.

Charity Number: NICI03194.

Bank: Bank of Ireland, Market Street, Downpatrick

Trustees: Mr Brendan Kerr Mr Mark McAllister Mr Simon Artherton Mr Phelim Sharvin

Purpose: To organise and run a free four-day community festival in August for the entire community of the village of Strangford and the surrounding district.

Activities: The group organises events during the four days such as a 5k/10k run, bands in a marquee on die lower green, a fancy dress parade through the village, a craft fair and it is rounded off with live music on the bank holiday Monday.

Gross income for the financial year ended 23"November 2023 was £25,550. £5,000 of this was received by way of grant funding. Other monies raised included £10,046 by way of sponsorship, £10,504 was raised through fundraising activities which included £1,558 from the 5k/l0k and £4,569 from the band night in the marquee. Payments for the year totalled £27,688 which included bands and entertainment of £13,752 and catering of £3,659. This leaves a deficit for the year of (£2,138).

The Trustees of Strangford Festival Committee confirm they have complied with the duty to have regard to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's public benefit requirement.
