Report
This season started off in September 2024 and finished up in June 2025.
During this period the group held monthly meetings at which a range of activities took place. We started with walks in September, carved Halloween pumpkin lanterns in October and made Christmas decorations in November from recycled materials.
The group went out for a Christmas meal in December, which was self-funded. In January the meeting had to be cancelled due to the bad weather and storm Eowyn. In February our speaker gave advice on healthy eating, giving details of additives, etc which are in the everyday foods we eat, what to avoid and what was good for us. In March the speaker was from Diabetes NI, again giving good advice on how to manage diet and blood sugars. In April Mr Robert Scott, The Lord Lieutenant for Co Tyrone, gave the group a talk on his working life, the position of Lord Lieutenant and what that roll entailed and also on forestry management especially in lieu of storm Eowyn.
In May the ladies brought home-made desserts for all to sample and many recipes were swapped and tips exchanged.
The group went out for a meal to close off the year in June 2025. This function was self-funded.
