The Club h&$ been Tegister¢d with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland from 7th JY 2015 under the Charity number: NIC103180 Slat¢ment of Compliance In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year the trustees have given care1 consideration to the Charity Conunis5ion for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit to ensure thal the activities have helped to achieve the charity's pUTSes and provide a nefIt to the Ixneficiaries. Printipal Activiti The Rock & District Historical Society is established to advan¢e public education Ihrough the promotion, development and dissemination of knowledge of the history, archaelogy, folklore, traditional crafts and antiquities of the Rock and its environs. The society also carries out research by Collecting, recording and publishing infornthtion on all aspects of local history of the Rock and local are& The new fisGal year began in November 2024 with a prcscntation fiom Andrcw Kane on 'The Townland Atlas of Ulster.. In December, Michacl Meharg gave a talk on 'The History and mythology of Cattle in Ireland., In January 2025 a presenlaiion by Sebastian Graham had to be cancelled due to bad weather conditions. In February, we held OUT annual 'Musi¢ Nigbl., It wa5 very well att¢llde as always. The March 2025 meeiing featured David Lennox giving a tslk on 'Th¢ Bygone Days of the Rock and Surrounding Towns Through Old Pictutc Postcards., The fiscal year ended in October 2025 with the rescheduled presentation by Sebastian Graham on 'Heritsge at Risk: At risk Buildings Near the Rock., McDonald O'Neill & Co. ROCK & DISTRtCT HISTORICAL SOCIETY The Society also organized a one-day ouling to County Donegal in Augusi 2025. The day included a tour of the Lifford Old courtIuse and a visit to Glcnveagh National Park and Castle. Approximately 50 people participated in this educational tour. tn addition to the programes and one-day outing, the Society also mainlained its Facebook pag¢, which now has 586 followers. Finan¢ial Review The Tnlstees have a procedure in place to review ihe accounts annually. The charity's accounts will be prepared each year lo 31 October.
