Friends of St. Colman's Bann Primary School Trustees’ Annual Report (continued) Year ended 30 June 2025 _ .
.
The direct benefits that flow as a result of the purposes being carried out is the improvement in educational standards and facilities of the pupils at St Colman's Bann Primary school and better working relationships between the staff and parents. These benefits are demonstrated through the improvement of results and standards in yearly examinations and found outlinedin the school development plan. The intended beneficiaries are the pupils of St Colman's Bann Primary school, the staff and the parents and | the wider local community as a consequence of this. We have adopted the child protection policy of the school as we are aware that although we are not working directly with the children there are risks associated with being linked with the school community. Indirectly each of the members of the group as __ a parent of a pupil in the school will benefit from the purposes being carried out as each of our children _- will benefit through through the advancement of their. their. education but this is inconsequential.
: will benefit through through the advancement of their. their. education but this is inconsequential. ' . We aim to raise funds for the use of the school for equipment or other facilities or towards the cost of , school trips. Our fundraising activities include raffles, Christmas Fayre, Bingo nights, film night and car boot sales. In the future we hope to be able to apply for outside funding from sources such as the lottery. Our events are run through support and volunteers from parents and others in the local community. Local businesses have also been very helpful when it comes to sponsoring events or providing prizes , for raffles. me , .
Achievements and performance BO The Friends of St Colman's group is a PTA group run by a core group of parents and the Principal of St Colman's Bann Primary School, Laurencetown, County Down, Northern freland. The aim of the group is to provide the school with the means to purchase extra resources for the children through fundraising: We norma! have one main fundraising event per term and, although difficult, we try to introduce novel ideas every year along with the tried and tested successful methods. In November 2024 we hosted a quiz and then a Christmas Raffle in December 2024. As is tradition, we contributed half the cost of the "hoodiesthe for our Primary 7 leavers and were in the position also,to contribute towards reading books for whole school. We intend to raise enough to contribute towards the purchase of iPads in the next financial year. The new Academic year will hopefully bring further fundraising opportunities. Many thanks to the Committee, parents, Mr Tighe and all the staff for their continued help and support.
