1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 This is New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship’s second Trustees Annual Report as required by the Charity Commission NI. This relates to the financial year ended 31st March 2022.

1.2 This document has been prepared based on guidance provided by the Charity Commission and Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public benefit requirement statutory guidance.

2.0 LEGALITIES

2.1 The Church is registered as a Charity in the name of New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship.

2.2 New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship is registered with the Charity Commission NI under the number NIC103172.

3.0 CONSTITUTION AND PURPOSE
-
3.1 New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship is a Christian organisation that seeks to provide worship and activities for the good of anyone who would wish to be a part of them.

3.2 New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship is committed to working with those who are part of the Fellowship itself but also with the wider community. We are based in a community facility for our Worship times and other activities. We are committed to being a help and encouragement both spiritually and practically to all those who live in the surrounding area.
4.0 TRUSTEE APPOINTMENTS

4.1 Trustees must be Full Members of New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship before they can be considered for Trusteeship. Only Full Members can become Trustees.

4.2 A Full Member can become a Trustee by nomination and election at an Annual General Meeting of the Fellowship.

5.0 MAIN ACTIVITIES TO FURTHER PUBLIC BENEFITS

5.1 New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship seeks to promote the advancement of charitable activities for the benefit of the public in accordance with the following doctrines:
-
5.1.1 the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ mainly, but not exclusively, by means of broadcasting Christian messages of an evangelistic and teaching nature;
-
5.1.2 to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Broughshane, Ballymena and the surrounding areas for the benefit of the public though the holding of prayer meetings, bible studies, children’s meetings, youth activities, public celebrations of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature on the Gospel of Jesus Christ to enlighten others about the Christian religion.

The direct benefits which flow from our purpose include:

5.2.1 the adoption of a moral framework which encourages people to be good citizens;
-
5.2.2 the provision of a safe, caring environment for children and young people locally;
-
5.2.3 the provision of a supportive network to the lonely, elderly and bereaved in the local community;
-
5.2.4 supporting other charities including donations to Women’s Aid, a Christmas Shoe box appeal for local children, the Prison fellowship, Watoto Child Care ministries, Kids for Schools and Children in Need.

5.3 These benefits are evidenced through:

5.3.1 positive reviews on our social media sites;
-
5.3.2 improved behaviour of the local youth as a result of being involved in a youth organisation promoting living according to Christian principles;

5.3.3 the increasing numbers of people attending our various services and events and the feedback received from them.

5.4 The purpose of our charity does not lead to any harm.

5.5 The charity’s beneficiaries are members of the fellowship, their families and friends and the wider community who attend our services and events, including young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, the elderly, lonely, bereaved and those who are suffering from addictions to drugs and alcohol.

5.6 There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose.

6.0 PUBLIC BENEFIT REVIEW
-
6.1 New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship achieved their objectives with regards to public benefit, seeing development and growth throughout their charitable activities.

6.2 To further the work of the church, a property was purchased in November, 2020 and renovations have begun and are progressing well with a view to opening mid-2023.
7.0 FINANCIAL REVIEW
-
7.1 Financial performance in the year ending 31[st] March 2022 has been broadly consistent with the Trustee’s forecasts and expectations.

7.2 The year ended with a total fund balance of £249,254 (compared with £152,385 for the previous year). Detailed accounts can be found on page 7.
