Summary of Activities
The Derry Midweek League is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers, to provide children & adults with opportunities for recreation in the interests of social welfare, the advancement of Cricket and Development of Local Charities. The Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public benefit requirement statutory guidance. It has organised a number of amateur cricket events during the year including a league and cup programme for men, women and children.
A number of fundraising events were held during the year and proceeds donated to a local charities in the region.
The Derry Midweek League would like to thank the following:

clubs who provided the use of their grounds throughout the season, It was very much appreciated.

all the clubs for taking collections and all kind donations passed on through the season.

council members who have all helped out during the season with collections and running of cup finals.
Charitable purposes

The advancement of amateur sport through Cricket to generate funds solely for distribution to other charities looking after those in need.

To offer competitive non-discriminate opportunities in cricket for all & promote social inclusion & interaction of groups from all religious, ethnic & social backgrounds

To provide financial support to local charities to assist the prevention of poverty.

To assist the advancement of mental & physical health and social interaction through Cricket participation.

To encourage the advancement of inter-community relations through competitive and recreational league formats.

To assist in the relief of those in need through annual financial donations to existing charities
Review of the financial position
As of the 31st December 2016 our closing bank balance is £3000 all of which is unrestricted funds. These funds are held in order to meet any planned and unforeseen expenditure that may occur and to allow for the development of the Derry Midweek League.
