FOREWORD

This is the annual report for the financial year 2024-25 summarising the activities of Armoy Community Association.

The report shows the continued success and tangible impact we continue to have across the community.

This year has been particularly significant with major achievements at Limepark and the transition of our youth provision to full year-round programming.

ACA is deeply grateful for the time, energy and effort so many of our volunteers put into all the activities, events and initiatives supported by the Association over the last year - we deeply appreciate your generosity.

This report includes a summary of our principal activities, as well as a financial report and a statement of compliance with all our legal obligations

Dated: 30th January 2026

OUR CHARITABLE PURPOSE

Below are the charitable purposes of Armoy Community Association.

The Association is established for:

STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE

In setting our objectives and planning and carrying out our activities each year, we give careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit. This is important to ensure that we have helped achieve the purposes we set out to achieve and provide a clear and tangible benefit to our beneficiaries.

The following report outlines the highlights of the principal activities for the year of 2024-25.

LIMEPARK REDEVELOPMENT

The Community Association continues to invest time, money and volunteer support into building up the success of the regeneration of Limepark Playing Fields and Parklands.

Our park run has now completed its third full year and continues to grow in popularity. Every Saturday morning at 9:30am, the community gathers to run, walk, jog or push prams around the track - hail, rain or shine. Over the course of the year, we have welcomed participants from across Northern Ireland and beyond, with the event now firmly established as a key part of weekly community life in Armoy. A special thanks to all the volunteers who make this possible week after week.

Limepark continues to serve as a hub for community activity throughout the year, hosting charity events, school activities, and serving as a gathering place for the whole community. Plans for further regeneration and investment are ongoing.

ONGOING COMMUNITY-BUILDING ACTIVITIES

2024-25 saw the continuation and growth of many community building activities built around the Community Association:

Youth Club - Year-Round Provision: A major development this year has been the transition of our youth club from seasonal to year-round provision, supported by funding from BBC Children in Need. The youth club continues to see strong attendance on Friday nights throughout the year. A special thanks to all the volunteers who have committed to supporting this expanded programme.

Summer Scheme: Another 'hybrid' summer scheme took place between Tilly Molloy's and Limepark. We delivered two weeks of summer scheme for primary school attendees followed by a separate teen-specific scheme later in the summer for secondary school children. All the children, staff and volunteers had a wonderful time together over the summer weeks, with activities ranging from sports and crafts to educational trips and outdoor adventures.

Over 55s: The Over 55s club continued with their programme of weekly meetings with strong attendance and a range of trips, celebrations and classes enjoyed by all. The club remains committed to providing a welcoming space for older members of our community to connect, learn and enjoy time together.

Seasonal Festivities: 2024-25 saw the continued development of our calendar of seasonal activities with community events built around the turning on of the Christmas lights, an Easter egg roll/hunt, and Halloween festivities. These seasonal activities continue to serve as great opportunities to bring the whole community together across all ages and backgrounds.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY

One of the key responsibilities of the community association is to help with broader community development in Armoy and the surrounding area.

ACA has continued to advocate about the needs of people in Armoy and what should be done to better meet those needs. This has included direct advocacy to politicians and elected representatives on issues including sewage and water infrastructure, housing needs, schools, jobs, economic development and regeneration.

A special thanks to our Community Development Officer Ruth for all her work in supporting the entire community and advocating on our behalf.

TILLY MOLLOY’S CENTRE

ACA has continued to keep the Tilly Molloy’s Centre open all year round and maintained to an excellent standard. A special thanks to Josie and all the team who keep the centre safe, clean and tidy for all those who need to use it and rely on it.

FINANCIAL REPORT

This year’s financial report shows an income of £75,683 and an expenditure of £64,936

This is up on the 2023-24 due to some extended fundraising efforts. ACA is grateful for the grant support it was able to receive in the financial year 2024-25.

A copy of the receipts and payments and assets and liabilities accounts as well as the Independent Examiner’s Report is available alongside the annual report of Trustees.
