## Leaders report July 2025

Welcome to Peter Pan Everyone.

| would like to thank you to the committee, staff and parents for their continued support in maintaining the high standards in Peter Pan.

We are a great team and always have the best interest of the children and parents as priority. We give respect to all the children this in return encourages mutual respect.

We continue to maintain an excellent playgroup while working with other professionals. A recent Inspection from Social Services where recommendations were given All recommendations from have been met. We are very proud of our outdoor area, which is a safe and secure area for the children to play in. Inside there are designated areas where the children have for free play most of the morning.

Fundraising will be a big part of the year ahead as we have several overheads.

## Overview of the year.

All staff members have updated their training as needed. During the year we will have several training days where we the staff can update our professional development opportunities.

The children started playgroup in a staggered format meant it was easier for the children to settle in. Parents were welcome to stay as long as needed. | reassured the parents that we would send photos to them via the class DOJO app. This was a great way to let parents see how the children were settling in.

We had a very successful feedback session with parents in Oct where the parents seen how their children were doing.

With Nadine going on her Maternity leave | took over from Nadine. (we waited patiently to hear of Nadine’s new baby)

We had our nativity play and due to lack of space a few grandparents could not sit in. So, we asked the local senior citizens to come in to see the play here the grandparents were able to come in. This was a great wee morning and creating a link with our community. We hope to develop this as the year goes on.

Nadine had her baby boy & Rory

## Links with other professionals.

We have had a social service visit this went well to all recommendations have been completed.

We hada visit from Fidelma the health visitor to get to know all the children and how we are getting on. This also helped us to have better relationships and communication and extra support when needed. Dental Nurse comes with toothbrush kit and literature around dental care to be handed out to parents termly.

Nearing the end of year, we had visits from teachers from local primary schools and the children got to visit them and this was a positive experience for the children.

## Planning throughout the year.

We in Peter Pan deliver a wide range of activities to help the children learn through play. Following the EA curriculum six areas of learning. These include:

- e Personal, Social & Emotional development. e Language Development. e Physical development & movement.

- e The Arts.

- e Early Mathematical Experiences. e The World Around Us.

Parents have been given feedbacks during the year showing how their child is developing in each of these areas. We have an open-door policy so parents could come in any time to discuss their child’s progress.

Talking ted comes to visit and each child had an adventure to talk about.

We received some funding where the children received kits to incorporate several themes. This is part of the Getting Ready to Learn Program. Big Bedtime Read, Happy Healthy Kids and Ages and Stages.

We received further funding to replace front windows and door to create a warm welcoming environment for both parents and children.

.

Easter Parade another wee fundraiser the children did a sponsored walk and received a lovely treat after.

Many of the parents held a variety of fundraising through-out the year THANK YOU so much.

Parent participation from the parents went downa treat, so we are looking forward to many more this year.

June, we had a slumber movie night which the children loved.

These are just some of the things that happened in playgroup.

We have received funding to upgrade some resources outdoors though they are still a work in progress and should be in place over the summer.

! would like to thank parents for all their help through the year and a special thank you to Brian Campbell for sorting out our black board outside as our previous one was damaged in the storm.

## Plans, for the future.

We hope to continue to carry on the seamless learning experiences for the children both indoors and outdoors developing the six areas of learning.

We look forward to working with the new parents and taking on board any ideas they may have.

1 would fike to continue to link with different groups in the community as senior citizens was a success.
