Purposes:
The Group is cstablished to advance the arts, culture and heritage - in particular the Ulster
Scots tradition - for the benefit of the public through any exclusively charitable means such
as;
The provision of opportunities for participants to read and learn bag-pipes, drums and
other musical instruments.
The carrying out of musical perfornlances at Church services or other community
events.
The leading of established orders at parades and related events.
Public Benefit:
The trustees are satisfied that the public benefit requirement was met.
The direct benetits which flow from this purpose include the advancement of Pipe and Drum
Music through the education and leaming of the young members in our local and wider
community leading to be actively responsible youths contributing to enhanced community
life.
Further benefits include wider public access to, and enjoyment of, cultural and musical arts.
This is demonstrated through the direct teaching of musical instniments such as Pipes and
Drums delivered by experienced trained instructors: improvements in the skills of learning
musicians and public attendance ai perforniances.
The beneficiaries are the gen¢ral public, primarily from the local community but also further
afield.

A privale benefit might arise where tutors gain, for example transferable skills or knowledge,
through their part in classes organized at the venue. However, this benefit is essential to the
maintenance of the band as othenvise it could not function or deliver musical perfonnances.
Financial Report Ending 31st August 2022:
Grants were obtained from Ulster-scots, Mid Ulster District Council and Dept of
Communities.
These grant helped to deliver the direct benefits which flow from our purpose include the
advancement of Pipe and Drum Music through the education and learning of the young
members in our local and wider community leading to be actively responsible youths
contributing to enhanced community life and provide suitable facilities after Covid.
Forecast: We have the potential to revitalize and to be more resilience to prosper for the
future.
