Activities

The Society is established to: • Promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Drumlough & Ballygorian area and Rathfriland district area and its environs (hereinafter described as “the area of benefit”) without distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion. It will so do by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of the social welfare, education, recreation or other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. • Advance knowledge appreciate and research the history of the people associated with the area of benefit, in particular the life of the late Thomas Rowan Morrow who perished on RMS Titanic 15th April 1912. • Advance knowledge and appreciation of the Ulster-Scots language and culture and to encourage understanding and acceptance of all indigenous cultures to the area of benefit.
