Markethill Community Festival Charity no. 103138 Trustee Annual Re ort I" Jan 2020- 31" Dec 2020 The Markethill Festival Committee organises and oversees the funning of the programme of Cross Community events whith provide a range of social and cultural events during the festival. The eommtttee hokl planning and review meetings monthly throughout the year. The Main FestNal events take pla during the last wk in July and the first week in August. followed by a cOnrt in September and a Senior Citizen's dinner in early DeMber. Our vision is to increase participation by all inhabitants in the locality in community activities, to encourage social interaction without fear of discrimination and to join with those providing entertainment. It is also an opportunty for young people to gain some social education that will be of benefrt to the whole communty. Our purpose is to raise social awareness and funds for charitable causes as chosen by the committee. Festival 2020 During January and February, the committeewere busy planning events for our annual Festival. However, during March as restrictions due to Covid-19 emerged, the committee canlled the festival, therefore no events were held The Committee where pleased to be able to support the local Communty appeals during periods of lockdown easements. In non-pandemic times we are successfvl in bringing people together in the Community throughout all our events. The Committee are committed to continuing this good work once nomalty might retum. Our objective is to promote good communty relations for the benefrt of Markethill and further afield in Northem Ireland through the organisation of cross-communty events. promoting a neighbourly spirit and facilitating the constructive exchange of view3 between all communiiies. In pursuit of our objectives and planning our activities the Trust*s consider the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland's guidan on public benefft to ensure our activities will help to achieve the Charity's purposes and provide benefrt to the beneficiaries.
