Independent examiner's report to the charity trustees of The Lincoln Courts Youth & Communlty Association I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2024, which are set out on pages I to 7. Respective responslbilities of charity trustees and examiner As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act follow the procedures laid down in the general Dlrections glven by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act stste whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Independent examlner's report I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out In accordance with the general Direttlons glven by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act. The examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparlson of the accounts presented wlth those records. It also Included consideration of any unusual Items or dlsclosures In the accounts, and seeklng explanatlons from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters. Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 31 March 2024 The Trustees of The Lincoln Courts Youth & Community Association a￿ pleased to present their report for the year ended 31 March 2024. Purposes of the Charlty The Association Is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Llncoln Courts, Brigade and Rossdowney areas of Londonderry in Northern Ireland { hereinafter called the "area of benefiv) without distinction of age, gender, sexuality, nationality, ethnic orlgln, polltical or religious oplnion, by associating the statutory authorlties, voluntary organlsations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance educatlon, and to provide facllitles in the interest of soclal welfare for the recreat5on of other lelsure-tlme occupation with the object of Improving the conditions of life for the sald inhabltants Maln Actlvltles to further the Charlty"s purposes for the publlc benefft Lincoln Courts Youth & Communlty Assoclation manage a purpose-bullt local authorlty communlty centre wlthln the Llncoln Courts estate. Our group is a grass-roots communlty group set up to try and improve the life for the resldents within the area and the surroundln8 areas. The maln actSvltles of our group include runnlng the youth club whlch Ss run 5 days a week for 3 dlfferent age groups, up to elghteen years old. ActivltSes also Include the Senlor Cltizens luncheon club, the Parent & Toddlers group, older peoples programme and the Women's group. We try to encourage the older residents to partlcipate in varlous activitles wlthln the communlty. There are also a number of cllnlcs avallable which include Welfare rlghts, Housln8 Executlve and other relevant statutory bodles. The maln focus of our artlvttles has been through the youth club whlch has reached out to all young people wlthin the estate and the surrounding areas to provlde them wlth new opportunltles and experlences, to divert them from the ongoing temptation to get involved with anti-wcial behavlour. Maln Achlevements In the year Llncoln Courts Youth & Communlty Assoclatlon ILCYCAI have delivered a wlde range of programmes and activlties for resldents over the course of the past year. We have also been proactlve In providlng hot meals, food parcels, fuel vouchers and general asslstance to all elderly and vulnerable people wlthin the Llncoln Courts and surrounding areas. Slnce the relaxatlon of Covid regulatlons LCYCA have provlded the following artlvities to the following groups: Pre-school Posltlve Parentlng (6months- 3 years) Messy Play - Interactive, Stimulating sensory programme, (14 weeks} Jo-Jin8les Singing, Rhyming and Phonetic programme. Seloctlon and Management The Charity is managed by an Executlve Committee whlch consists of all the appointed trustees, and the selectlon of any new Trustees Is dealt wlth by that Commlttee.
