Trusteeg Annual Report for the year ended 31 December Z The trustees present the annual report and accounts for the St Colmanell's Church of Ireland for the year ended 31 De￿mber 2024. Objectlves and Artivltles The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland is the advarKement of Christianity. The principal function of St Colmènell's IS to support the advancement of the Christian religion by promoting the whole mission of the Church. pastoral. evangelistic. social and ecumenical. Bein8 open to and engaging with society as a whole and offering support for those needln8 help are fundamental to the practEcal dellvery of the beneflts of Chrlstianity. As a result of actlvity in the pursuit of the ad￿dn￿ment of the Christian rellgion, St Colmanell's has Custody of propertv and of records. materials and artefacts of Significance to the cultural and religious heritage and maintenance of which is undertaken by the select vestry of St Colmanelvs. A¢hlevements, Performance & Public Benefft The church has achieved Its objectives by the holding of re8ular religious services and also holding various youth and other actlvitie5 for the benefit of the local community- The church holds regular public worship servlces on Sundays and worship services on Wednesday5 and on other occaslons associated with Christlan festivals throughout the year. Calendar year 2024 contlnued on from 2023 wlth Church services returning to normal based worship on a Sunday. °Normal" services conslsted of Sunday morning prayer worship with the fourth Sunday of the month being an all.age service wlth a more relaxed format. An evening 5ervke was also conducted once a month. Sunday mornlng attendan¢e ranged from 80 to 110 attendees. Sunday School and creche were fully functioning on a Sunday mornlng. Outside of the worship services, the church Is normally engaged In several outreach programmes into the local community, through or8anisations such the Knittin8 Club. Church members contlnue to engage in outreach programmes by sending cards andlor newssheets at Easter and Christmas. The Church Fete resumed in 2023 along with other successful outreach activities, Includln8 a Variety Night and a Pre-loved Clothes Sale. The Rector and two parishloners from St Colmanell's went on an outreath misslon to Ibba In South Sudan to help build relations with the local church. Fund ralslng and donatlons from the con8regation supported this trip. The Parlsh has given careful consideration to the Charity Commisslon for Northem Ireland's guidance on publlc beneflt to ensure that the actives entered into durlng the year have helped to athieve the Parish's objectlves and activitles. as well as providing publlc benefit. Flnanclal Revlew The trustees consider that the unrestrirted funds of the church have sufficient ￿sOurceS and assets available which are adequate to fulfil their obligations. A detailed analysis of parish income and expenditure is set out in the notes to the financial statements. General givlng has been reviewed by the Trustee5, and it is recognlsed that whilst the level of giving has ￿mained steady, it ha5 not kept pace with inflation and the general increases in the cost of good5 and services. Several letters and presentstions on giving have been presented to the congregation. with regular givers indicating a willingness to provide additional support if requi￿d. The number of givers by monthly standing OTder had increased to more than 65 by 31 December 2024, which provides a regular incorne to meet ongoing overheads. During 2024, the Parish dlstributed IO% of free wtll offerfng to Charitable causes across the local and wider community. Distribution to charitable causes will continue In 2025. Donations to the bulldings fund have continued to average £L500 per month up to the end of De￿mber 2024.

This is held to provide funds for future building projects as the need arises. Funds are currently being accumulated to asslst with the intended future construction of a new Parish Centre. Full planning approval has been granted for the new Parish Centre in 2022 The project to build the new Parish Centre took on a greater urgenc¥ during 2024. The inflationary increase in the cost of materlals and professional servi¢es have resulted in a need to review the plans to explore all options with affordablllty belng the prlmary considerailon. In order to demonstrate Stewardship and governancÈ. a 5ubt and Constitution of the Charity Chapter111 of the Constitution of the Church of Ireland governs Parishes and Parochial Organlsatlon. The Select Vestry members are the Charlty Trustees. Re¢rultment and Appolrtment of Selert Vesty All members of the Church of Ireland who are over the 38e of 18 and are either resident wlthin the parish or live elsewhere but have been accustomed members of the Congregation for at least three months, may re815ter a5 members of the Beneral vestry of the parish. Thi5 allows them to attend and vote at meetings of the Beneral vestry and to stand for election to the Select vestry. MeÈting5 of the general vestry ore held at least once a year. The Select Vestry is elected as part of this General Vestry meeting. The Select Vestry wlll hold thèir positions for a period of one year. Select Vestry members may be re-elected annually and there is no limit on the number of tem15 whkh may be served. Pay and remuneratlon The stlpend of the Incumbent of the Parish is paid directly by the Parish in accordance with fIgu￿$ approved by the General Synod of the Church of Ireland. Orgunlsotlonglstrurture The select vestry is respon51ble for the day to day management of the parlsh. The selert vestry conslsts of the member of the clergy servln8 in the Pdrish, any curate as51stsnt 1.the curate"). the churchwardens. the glebe wardens and generally not more than twelve other members of the general vestry elected at the General Vestry. The select vestry is chaired by the incumbent or other member of the clergy officiatin8 in the parish. Select vestry member5 are responslble for making decislons on matter5 of general concern and importance to the parish including deciding how parlsh fvnds are to be applied. The select vestry meets at tlme5 fixed by the members or by the dlocesan synod. Special meetlngs may be convened at any tirne by the chairperson or the churchwardens. In 2024 the Select Vestry had 10 face to face meetin8s and an Easter Vestry. The average attendance was more than 75%.

Responslbllltles The trustees are responsible for preparin8 theTrustees' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and re8ulations. The law applicable to charities in the Northern Ireland requires the trustee5 to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the trustees have prepared the financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practlce In the United Kingdom (accountlng standard5 155ued by the Financial Reporting Councll in the UK, including Charities SORP {FRS 102)" Accounting and Reportin8 by Charitie5: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing thelr atcounts in accordance wlth the Financial Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFR5 1021 "and promulgated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in the United Kingdom and United Kingdom Law) Under that law the trustees must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfled that they give a true and fair view ot the state of the affairs of the charity and of the statement of financial attivities of the charlty for that period. In preparing thèse financial statements. the trustees are required to- select suitable acrountlng policies and then apply them conslstently make judgments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent state whether the financial statements have been prepared in accordance with applitable Accounting St?ndards and identify the standards in question, subject to any material departures bein8 disclosed and explained in the financlal statement5; and prepare the financial statements on the g￿n8 concern basis unless it is inapproprlate to presume that the Parlsh wlll continue as J 80in8 concern.
