Ives and Actlvl I The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religlon. The princlpal funttion of Duneane & Ballyscullion Parlsh church is to support the advancement of the Christian religion by promoting, through the work of the Ouneane & 8ally5cullion Parish church, the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and etvmenical. Bein8 open to and en8a8in8 Wlth Society as a whole and offering SUPPOrt for those needing help, are fundamental to the practieal delivery of the benefits of Christianity. A5 a result of activity in the pursuit of the advancement of the Christlan religion, Duneane & Ballysculllon Parish church has custody of property and of records, rnaterials and artefacts of signiflcance to the cultural and reli8iOUS heritage, and maintenance of which is undertaken by the select vestry of Duneane & 8allyscullion Parish church, chlev ments Perform nce & Publlc Ben fit Traditional Church services continued weekly for worshlp, fellowship and support to parlshloners and vSsltors. Special services for Harvest, Christmas and the local Orange Order were held, where member5 of the local community were welcomed. Encouragement and support was offered to members of Drummaul, Duneane and Ballyscullion parishe5, as declaration of their Christian falth. Pastoral care was provided to members of the parlsh and their families bv the incumbent; thls contributed to the splrltual well-bein8 of the parishioners. The rector held an exhibition of his Royal memorabilia collection In Drummaul, hl8hli8hting the Queens Jubilee and her dedication to faith,. creatln8 local communlty Interest. Each church received a portion of the donatlons collected at the exhlbltion. We also donated funds for charitable organisations, such as CM5, SAMS, Crosslinks, and the Queens Church of Ireland Student centre, and collectlons took place for the Nl Children'5 Hospice and Royal 8ritish Leglon at servlces held. All activities were carried out under Safe8uardln8 Trust principles. Duneane & Ballysculllon Annual Parlsh Report Year Endlng 3151 Dec 2022 Financial Review Duneane In the year endin8 31" Dec 2022, the exce$5 of fund5 from income over expenditure in the basic running account for Duneane parish was £2440,03, Income - The main source5 of income continue to be Free Will Offerin8, Harvest and Plate collections, and Gift Aid & GASDS IGIft Ald Small Donation Scheme) income. Free Will Offerings were relatively comparable with previous years.. being malntained at approx. £7-8K since 2013. Donations relatln8 to Glft Day were Still significantly affected by the Covid pandemic. and Harvest and plate collections also somewhat reduced from pre-covid levels: although were more than 2021. Gift Aid & GASDS income relate5 to monies collected in 2021. The RCB paid Covid grants to each parish, as a one.off payment, and we benefitted from both the Covid general 8rant, and a Children5 grant Scheme. In addltion, each parish wa5 also supported financially from Rev Kerr's Royal Exhibltion fundraiser. nditure- Expendlture for 2022 Increased slightly from the 2 previous years, however Is In slmilar levels with 2018 & 2019- with most expenditure bein8 at expected levels. Bank fees contlnue to rise. likewise heating oil. electricity and insurance. A relatively new expense of servicin8 and replacement of flre extingulshers also adds to additional runnin8 Costs. Fees paid to the Diocese for stipend, general fund assessment etc, were in line wlth prevlous amounts. A repair was requlred to fix a water heater, and this is noted as an unusual expense, repalrs to the cupboards affected will be invoiced at a later date. No other extraordlnary expend•ture was noted In 2022, and no unexpected or capital purchases were required frorn this main running account. No Investments were made. Misslons were supported wlth donations to the same levels as previous years. Overoll- In the basic account Used for managing day-to-day accounts, the total income raised for Duneane was £13,076.08, whlle the expenditure for Duneane for 2022 was £10,636,05 wlth a closin8 balance of £27,724.22. Therefore the trustees belleve that the parlsh has sufficient funds to meet on8oln8 Costs and any further expenditure. Collections - Collectlons on behalf of other charity organisations are recorded In income and expenditure of the standard runnin8 account, ccoun held- Main running costs and donations are managed uslng a current account held wlth Danske 8ank. In order to rneet any capital expenditure required, the parish has funds at Danske Bank {known as No2 Repair account), however this is only to be used for these capital expenses, Funds from thls capltal account purely related to interest in 2022,. while the only debits were fees. An additlonal atcount is held with the Progressive Buildin8 Soclety purely for holdin8 a reserve from a bequest from Mrs Evelyn Hlll for upkeep of the graveyard.. only interest will be drawn from thi5 at any time, to allow it to Continue in perpetuity. No wlthdrawa15 took place in 2022. and only interest was credited to the account. Income - The main source5 of income continue to be Free Will Offerin8, Harvest and Building Fund envelope5, although all of these donations dropped compared to previous years. No Gift Day collections were raised as thi5 was still affected by the Covid.19 pandemic. A donation was made from a chrlstenin8 service. Gift Aid & GASD5 Income relates to monies collected in 2021 & part of 2022. The RCB paid Covid grants to each parlsh, as a one- off payment, and we benefitted from both the Covid general grant, and a Childrens grant scheme. In addition. each parish was a150 supported flnancially from Rev Kerr's Royal Exhibition fundraiser. The closing balance of this maln account is £20517.21. Therefore, the trustees believe that the parish ha5 Sufficient fund5 to meet on80in8 Costs and any further expenditure. Savings Account - the total income raised in this account was £3483.09, expendlture from thSs account was £1296.41, funds were transferred in as above, leaving a closing balance of £13870.39. OCLO . Pay and remuneratlon The Incumbent of the Parish's stipend 15 paid by the treasurer of Drummaul Parish, a5 part of the Union with Drummaul. Duneane and Ballyscullion parishes a5 a whole. Ouneane & Ballyscullion parish pays one-third of the approved stipend to Drummaul churth for the incumbent's stipend. This stipend Is In accordance with flgures approved by the General Synod of the Church of Ireland. The select vestry is responsible for the day to day managernent of the parish. The select vestry consists of the member of the clerey servlng in the parish, the churchwardens, the glebe wardens and other members elected at the General Vestry Meeting. The select vestry 15 chaired by the incumbent or other member of the clergy officiating in the parish. The law applicable to charitie5 In Northern Ireland with Income of less than £250.000 requires the trustees to prepare a statement of receipts and payments for each financial year. The trustees are responsible for keeping accountlng records that are sufflclent to show and explain the Parish's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the asset5 and liabilities of the Parlsh.
