KILL4GAN PARISH CHURCH TRUSTEES REPORT The Trustees present the annual report together with the Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2023. TRUSTEES The Trustees during the year were: Rev A R Halligan, Sandra Chambers, George Cinnamon, Linda A Ferguson, Brenda Given, Robert Kirkpatrick, Alice Logan, Annie Mark, Christine McFall, Joyce McLaughlin, Edwin R McLaughlin, Linda Stinson, Lee Averill, Paul Stevenson, Jacqui McLoughlin. FINANCES The accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023 show a dec￿ase in Freewill Offerings from £22,081 in 2022 to £21,445 in 2023. Other income decreased from £11,925 in 2022 to £10,503 in 2023. As a result of the Incumbent being upgraded from Curate in Charge to Rector there was an increase in the Rectors Stipend during the year but there was no other major increases in expenditure, The surplus for the year was £9,031 as against £12,813 the previous year. The Bank Balance at 31 December 2023 was £84,686 (£75,655: 2022). All monies received by the Parish is checked by at least two Trustees before being passed on to the Treasurer to be lodged to the bank. MANAGEMENT The Finances are managed by the Treasurer who provides a report to the Trustees at the Selett Vestry meetings which are held monthly or other times as may be. required. The Selett Vestry members are the Trustees and are appointed each year at the Annual Easter Vestry by the Church members. PURPOSE The principal function of the Parish is to SUPPOrt the advancement of the Christian religion ty promoting through the work of the Parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. Being open to and engaging with society as a whole and offering support for those needing help is fundamental to the practical delivery of the tenets of Christianity. As a result of activity in pursuit of the advancement of the Christian religion, the Parish has custody of the Church building, records, materials and artefatts which are of cultural significance and the maintenance of these is undertaken as secondary charitable purpose. KILLAGAN PARISH CHURCH TRUSTEES REPORT- CONT'D PUBLIC BENEFIT The expression of the precepts of the Christian religion through engagement with the general public and in particular with the disadvantaged, the sick, the elderly and the young is a public benefit. This can be measured and evidenced through increased social integration and pastoral care delivered at the point of need. Regular worship and reaching out into the community as well as both social and fundraising activities throughout the year have been carried out to fulfil our statement of Public Benefit. Our monthly cross-community ladies Craft Circle and annual pre-christmas craft sale are widely supported by the local community. Our mother's union is very attive and we also have a men's fellowship group and a youth group. TRUSTEES RESPONsIBIL￿IE The Trustees are responsible for keeping accurate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Charity's transattions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity.
