**Purposes:** to address the practical needs and promote the welfare of past and present members of the Fire Service in Northern Ireland and their families (‘the beneficiaries’) in order that morale and efficiency are raised within the Fire Service, people are encouraged to join the Fire Service and respect is afforded to those who have served in the Fire Service; In particular but not exclusively, the Association will seek to address the real and practical needs of those injured or bereaved as a result of the years of ‘The Troubles’ and its impacts on the Fire Service.
