The Magheraveely Sunshine Club Reg No NIC103053

Annual Report for the year March 2018 to March 2019

The club is established for the advancement of education and protection of health among older people aged 50 or over and to relieve poverty in Magheraveely and its environs (hereinafter called the ‘area of benefit’) and in particular: (i) provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for older people; (ii) raise awareness among the general public of the needs and experiences of older people in the area of benefit.

Activities

In May and running right through to December we ran monthly outings with on average 51 members attending each outing. Each of these outings enables local older people to get together, reducing isolation etc. It also gives the leaders time to share details of activities in the area that will benefit older people.

On some occasions we joined with other Clubs where we enjoyed music & other entertainment, on other occasions we invited speakers who spoke on subjects of interest to our members eg .recycling and Dementia .

Our membership is gradually increasing & judging by the feedback we get the members enjoy the service provided & we would hope to continue for the foreseeable future.

Magheraveeley Sunshine Club Trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission NI's guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Clubs objectives as well as providing Public Benefit. There is no private benefit.
