deliver accredited qualifications for the professional devdopment of young people.
Thr￿gh our Victory Scholar Programme, Sport Changes Life gives US collegk2te scholar- athletes
ffom diverse socio*¢onomi¢ backgrLyJnds the opportunity lo pursue advanced study in graduate
programmes al universf(ies across the island of Ireland while continuing to playtheir sport.
¢oaching and mentoring young people in neighbouring local communf(ies and gaining valuable

enrichment.

As a foundation we were prfyjd to have persisled with the programme in light of the ongoing Covid-
19 pandemic and although at limes proved challenging, we successlulty managed and c
ordinated 11 deserving sludenl-alhleles lo a life changing expereince in Ireland ove the last

The objective of the eHoops Youth Engagement Programme is to activate a colL4boralive and
innovative approach to address the issue of disengaged ￿Ung people wrth mults'ple barriers to
education, employment and training. Vve ran 2 x 24 eH￿p9 sports development programmes in
North and West Belfast funded by The EXe￿tiVe Office and 1 x 12 programme fundedn by the
Department of CommUnit￿S wrth young people in care from across greater Bdfast antl Pfoved to
be successful in integrating young people from drfferenl backgrounds using sport as a tool. The
programmes enabled 32 young people lo achieve OCN level 1 qualifications in good relations and
17 young people in care to have the same opportunlty a8 others to participate in community based
initiatives.
The success of the programmes cartr be attributed to the use of SFQrts as a common ground to
bring young people from different communities together, promokn.ng team Spirit, cooperation and
healthy competition all under the guidance of our team of sport mentors. The programmes
provlded a safe and inclusive environment for young people to learn and sO￿all$e. fostering good
relations and understanding among the participants.
The OCN level I quallfication$ On good relations lurther enhanced the particlpants. sklks and
knowledge in trHJilding posrtive relationships with people from drfFerent backgrounds. These
qualifications can be used to enhance the participants, emptoyaLylity and personal development
opportunities.
Overall. the 3 pr￿arammeS have been a positive example of how swrt can be used lo promote
sceial inthsion. diversity and understanding among yDung people from different backgrouNIs.

Actlve Ageing Programme
The Active Ageing Programme has shown Steady growth over the last 12 months. expanding its
operaliorts to cover four drfferent siles in the Amtrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council area and
an additional site in Belfast with JvJsaw Nl. The programme continues lo uts.lise sport and physical
a¢tivty to help individuals become more a¢tive, establish social connections. and enjoy the
numerous physical and mental ￿nefits of regular eXe￿ISe.
The programme's succes8 can be attTibuted lo its ability to offer bespoke exerctse classes, and
variety of sports activities that cater lo the needs of okler individuals wrth drffering ability levels. The
ACt￿e Ageing Programme provides parbcipants with opportunities lo leam new skills, engage with
otheis. and partiC4pale in physical actwty in a safe and $upportNe environment. Our team of Sp￿t
Mentors act as a valuable resource lo leh sessions by becoming a freindly face to some
participants who mqy not see another family relative or friend until the next session. Furthemiore
the programme has allowèd older adults to connect wlh the world again as we nav￿jale away from
the CoviL¥19 pandemic. We have deaded not to return lo nursing homes until a time il presents
ilsew safer lo do so_
As a result of the programrne's growth, the foundation has been aNe to asslst mcffe older aduits In
improving their health and welpbeing. as well as their qualty of life. The initiative has also enabled
individuals to bulld social connections. which has re$utted in a sense of community and belonging.

Future 4 one to one mentoring programme
staff have pul together a 24 week online mentoring programme for young people that will suptM)rt
and guide young people through life is$￿$ and uttimalely the impact of on physical and mental
health. This will be a revamp of the F￿Ure 4 programme and aligns dosely lo rts goals and
purFknse of creating a positive pathway to a brighter future for young people.
It is a mentoring prograrnrne of 24 weeks where young people aged 16-30 can be ¢onne¢ted with
our team of experienced mentors to help them raise their aspirations, increase their ￿nTidence,
overcome any Iss¥Jes they may be expeTiencing and to work tovrdrds theii goal8.
Thi8 WO￿ has been supported by St. James Place Foundallon. At the end of this year the team
have been exploring ways lo improve the $ervic* and Complete journey pathways by offering
employment opportunits.es and training lo help our young people be in a better mindset to tske up
employment opportunits'es. By providing young people with one-to-one mentoring we are helplng
them achieve their full potential and believe this is an effective approach to helpiro young people
overcome obstacles and achieve SLKcess in their lives.
The Future 4 programme continues lo provide a safe and supporb.ve environment for young people
to learn and grow. Our sport menlors ¢)ffer guidance and support in a non-judgmental way. hetring
young people devebp the sknls and confiden¢e needed to succeed.

HonourRoll Programme
Over the past 12 months. we have been running the Honour Roll programme in 23 primary schools
in Northern Ireland aimed at supporting P7 pupi15 through their transition to secondary school. The
programme. is sport-led and delivers personal development support that align$ with the PDMU
curri￿lUm.
The programme has been a resoundlng success, with 1,082 pupils benefittiro from the support
¢)ffered. The programme has helped pupils gain a better understanding of heath and well-being.
foster good relationships. and alleviate any fears associated moving to 8erxJndary 8¢hool.
The use of sport as a tool lo delNer pernonal development support has proven to be highly
effective. The Programme has enabjed pupils to engage in physical activity while also womding
opportunities to develop important life skills. The personal development support offered has hel￿￿

Structure. governance and managemènt of the ¢harlty
Board meets'ng5 take place bimonlhly, unless a special general meeting is required. The company
will hold an annual general meeting once in each calendai ypai. Tiuslees are appointed for a
year term and are eligible for reappointment after this term.
In appointment of a CEO, the board must reach consensus on the CEO'S job descriptM)n and
undertake a careful search process to find the most qUalif￿d indiwdual for the posilK)n.
The board will ensure that the CEO has the moral and profess￿nal support he or she needs 10

Finance Working Group
It is agreed that the Finance Working Group shall..
-oversee the financial planning of the Foundation and estsblisfTr stru¢tures. which will be
presented to the Board lor appioval. Guidelines will then be drawn up in accordan￿ wlth
regLblalion5 set out by the Inland Revenue.
-manage the financial health of the Foundation.
-To agree plans for wesenling and administering effective financkil procedures.
-To provide financial forecasts for the strategic development wgrk of the Foundation.
-To discuss and resolve any issues in relation lo the management of charrtable fund5 and to
enable the Foundation to ensure such funds are made available for the foundation's programmes,
as they are ￿eded.
-To prepare and present rinancial reports to the Board ￿ advance of board meetlngs as requlred.
-To receive and discuss Ilnancial reports from our accountancy support with the view to making
recommendali?ns to the Board on financial management.
-To ensure transparency in all fillancial matters relating to the Foundation.
-To identify and recommend suitable indiwduals lo manage financial matter.
-To demonstrate strategic fir*ancial leadership on matters related to the strategic dlrectlon and
operation of the Foundation.
-In reaching deci8ion8 the Finance WorknThJ Group of the Board of the Foundation wll have due
regard lo the impact and #mplic8titins of all deasions on operations in Northern Ireland and the
United States and the Foundation's commitment lo ensuring equitable practices_
-The Finance Working Group of the Board will meet annuatly unless otheMr6e agreed by the
Board.

Fundraising Working Group
It is agreed Ihat the Fundraising Working Group shall-
-Lead the fundraising activities of the Foundation.
-Prepare a short- and long-tem fundraisir#J strategy wrth specrfic goals and actions for approval
bythe board.
-Prepare and present reports on fundraksing lo the Board.
-Receive and discuss operational reports on fundraislna advlties wolh the vlew to maklng
recommendallon8 to the BoaTd.
-Discuss and resolve any issues in rela￿n lo the management of charitsble lunds and to enable
the board to ensure SLth funds are made available for the fourKlatiorns prcgrammes as they are
needed.
-Identrfy and reccynmend suitable individuals to promote fundraising and donor prospeds
-oversee the coordinati1￿ and promotion of the funolrai&ng through a communicatK)ns strategy
therèby infiuencwig key external stakeholders lo assist in fundraising.
-In reaching decisions the Fundraising Working G￿up of each of the area boards of the
Foundation wll have due regard lo the impact and implutions of all decisions on operations in
Northem Irdand and the United States and the Foundation's commitment to ensuring equitable
practices.
Govemance Working Group
-11 is agreed that the Governance Working Group shall ensure that the Board fulfils it legal, ethical
and functional responsibilities through adequate governance by.
-Designing appr¢)priate governance policies and procedures.,
-Defining the roles and responsibilities of the directors and its Working Group5".
-Notifying the Board rf it is at risk of falling below the number of directors required in the relevant
constitutK)n.
-Moniloring the Foundation's conflict of interest policy in TelatK*n to ils Trustees confirming
that the Board duly ob8eryes the policy as sel out in Ihe Foundation's articles of assockglion from
time to time.
-confirming Trustees appointed to Ihe Board have been notified d and agree the mission of
the foundation and the expectats'ons of directors.
-Confimiing Trustees appointed to the Board have been notified of and *Jree to the time and
parb'cipalion requirements of drectors.
-confirming elections and appointsnents to the Board comply wlth the conslilutlon and other legal
requirements.
-confirming that Trustees have all financial and govemance knowledge necessary to discuss,
debate and plan to achieve the Fourmlation's mission and goals.
-monitoring the attendance and conlribub'on of members.
-Drafting governance policies and budgets for board development for approval by the Board.
-Ensuring transparency in all matters relating to the Foundation.
