Through our Victory Scholar Programme, Sport Changes Life gives US collegiate $cholar- alhlele5
from dwerse socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity lo pursue advanced study in graduate
programmes al universf(ies across the i51￿d of Ireland while conb'nuing lo play their 5POrt,
coaching and mentoing young people in neighbouring local communities and gaining valuablfj
work4ife exFerien￿ through inlemships. partr)erships and friendships, ujltural exchange and
enrichment.
In order to achieve this, programmes are developed to meet the needs of young people, tailored to
each group. The key to the success of the pfogramme is the time committed to the engagement of

The current programmes portfolio is designed lo establish the Sport Changes Life Foundation as a
leading provrtler of sport-led personal development support for young people and older adults in
Northem Ireland. Continuously seeking for sustainable funding streams will support the lorrfJ-term
delivery of our programmes, and our current partnerships wth key stskeholders in the wider
community has enabled us lo expand our reach to more underserved communib'es and individuals.
Measuring and evaluating the impact of our programmes which wll ensure that we are makbng
positive drffer8n¢e in the lives of the individuals we serve. The delivery statistics for the year are

inspwe young people lo create a better future for themselves. Our Victory Scholar PTogiamme 18 a
unique and empowering opportunity for American NCAA studenl athletes to extend their education
to post graduate level whilst helpir¥J us deliver innovative and inspirational youth development
programmes.These programmes motivate and inspire young people living in local communilies lo
look lo a brighter future. Our Scholars also get the opportunity to continue to pLay their sport they
love.
Our ksl academic intake120211221 had seen our Sport Changes Lrfe family welcomed 11 Victory
Scholars to our programme. spread across 7 different universities in Ireland.
Wlih our Victory Schokr alUMr￿ nehvork. boasting 178 student- athletes, our Sport Changes Life

acro$8 the island of Ireland.The Victory scholarship prograwnme, works in partnership wth
UniversitEs throughout Ireland, North and South, supporting Youth Engagement Programmes
daity. The victory scholarship programme brings sporting role models, usually college baskett)all
players, to Northern Ireland to study lor a Maslerfs degree and work wlh disadvant&Jed young
people. SCL uses Victory Scholars as a calatysl for change in the parti¢ipanls' h've8.
As a foundats.on we were proud to have persisted with the prcoramme in loht of the ongolng Covld-
19 pandemic and although at tbmes proved chaI￿ngIng. we successfulty managed and co-
ordinated 11 deservng student-alhletes to a lffe changiro expereince in Ireland ove the last
aGademio year.

eHoops
The objective of the eHocps Yoirth Engagement Programme is to acts'vate a collaboratNe aTr
innovative approach to address the issue of disengaged young people with Multip￿ barrier5 10
educati¢￿. employment and Iraining. We ran 2 x 24 eHoops sports development programmes in
North and Wesl Bewasl funded by The Executive Office and 1 x 12 programme fundedn by the
Department of Cornmunilie$ with young people in care from across greater Belfast and proved lo
be successful in integrating young people from different backgrounds using Sport as a tcol. The
programmes enabled 32 young people to achieve OCN level I qualificats.ons in good relatiorts and
17 young people in care to have the same opportunty as others to participate in community based
initiatives_
The success of the pr(orammes can be attributed to the use of sports a8 a common grtyjnd lo
bring young peopk from different communities together, promoting team spirit, C￿Perats0n and
healthy competition all under the guidance of our team of sw)rt mentors. The proJramme5
prowded a safe and inclusive enwronment for young people lo learn and soctalise, fosterirg good
relations and understanding among the pattripants.
The OCN level 1 qualifications in good relali¢)ns further enhanced Ihe participants, skilb and
knowledge in buihdiThJ po$i*'ve relab"onships with people from different backgiounds. These
qUaIrf￿atIOns be used to enhance the participants. empbyabilty * personal development
opportunities.
Overall. the 3 prc4Jrammes have been a positive example of how sport can be us&J to promote
social induslon. dlver8(ty and understanding among young people from different backgrounds_

Programme which Can include extra curricular activitv.

Actlve Ageing Programme
The Actlve Ageing Prcgramme has shown steady growth over the last 12 months, expanding its
operations to cover four different sites in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council area and
an addrtional site in Belfast with Jigsaw Nl. The programme ¢t￿tsnueS to utilise sport and physical
activty to help individuals become more active, establish social connections, and enjoy the
numerous physical and mental tenefils of regular exerclse.
The programme's success can be attributed lo its ability lo offer bespoke exerctse classes. and
variety of sports aclivilie8 that Cater lo the ne￿5 tsf older indiwduals wth drffering ability levels. The
Aclwe Ageing Programme provhles participants with opportunilies to leain new 8kilLs, engage wth
otheis, and parti(#pate in phyEical 8Ctwty in a safe and supportwe enVIr￿menL Our team of Sport
Mentors act as a valuable resource lo leh sessions by becoming a freindly face lo some
participants who m4y not see another family relats.ve or friend until the next session. FurthermoTe
the programme has allowed older adults to connect wrth the world again as we navKJate away fr
the Cowd-19 pandemic. We have decided not to return lo nursing homes until a time it presents
itself safer to do so.
As a result of the prtrjramme's growth, the foundation has been able lo a$sisl more older adults in
improving their health and well-being, as well as their qualty of life. The initiative has also enabled
individuals to build social connections. which has resuKed in a sense of community and belonglng.

Future 4 one to one mentoring programme
Staff have pul together a 24 week online mentoring programme for young peO￿e that wll support
and guide young people through life issues and U￿matety the impact of on physical and mental
health. This will be a revamp of the Future 4 programme and aligns closely lo its and
purpose of creating a positive pathway to a biighter luture for young people.
It is a mentoring programme of 24 weeks where young people aged 16-30 can be connected wilh
our team of experienced mentors lo help them rai$e Iheir aspiralKJns, increase their ¢onfidence,
overcome any issues they may be experiencing and to work towards their goals.
This work has L*en sUPPOrted by St. James Place Foundation. At the end of Ihis year the team
have iEen explcfrng ways to improve the serwce and complete journey pathways by offering
employmenl opportunib"e$ and training lo help our young people be in a better mindset to take up
employment opportunities. By providing young people wth one-to-one mentoring we are helping
them achieve their full potential and believe this is an effective approach to helpirvJ young people
overcome ￿$tacleS and achieve success in their lives.
The Future 4 programme ¢onlinues to prowde a safe and supportive environment for Y￿n9 people
to learn and grow. Our swrt mentors offer guKlance and support in a non-judgmental way, helping
young people devekjp the skills and confiderKe needed to succeed.

Honour Roll Programme
Over the past 12 months, we have been running the Honour Roll prcrfJramme in 23 primary schools
in Northern Ireland aimed al supporting P7 pupils through their transition lo secondary school. The
programme. IS 8POrt4ed and delNers personal development support that align8 wlth the PDMU
owrieAJlum.
The programme has been a resounding success, wlh 1,082 pupils benefitting from the support
offered. The progiamme has helped pupiLs gain a better ijnderslanding of heamh and well-being,
foster good relatson5hips. and al￿VIate any fears associated wlh moving lo Se￿￿￿ary school.
The use of sport as a tool lo deliver personal development support ha5 proven lo be highly
effective. The programme has enable(J pupils to engage in physical actiwty while also Wo￿1d1ng
opportun¢tie8 lo develop impjrtant lrfe skills. The personal developmellt suppK)rt offered has helped
pupils build self-confidence, resilience, and a sense of p￿￿ose, which a￿ vital skills for navigating
Ihe Iran$ition to secondary schod and beyond. The programme has been funded by Several
housing associations Iconnswater Homes, Clanmil Housing, Apex Housing Assoc(ation & Radius
Housirol through their shared housing schemes and the'Housing for All, strategy. We are pioud of
these partnetships and continue to formal￿ better working realtKJnships as we move forward for
better accountability and efficiency.

Struclure. governance and managemerrt of the charlty
Board meetings take Pla￿ bimonthly, unle$s a 8pe¢ial oeneral meètiro is required. The company
will hold an annual general meeting once in each calendar year. Trustees are appointed for a t￿O-
year temi and are eligible for reappoinlment after thig term.
In appointment of a CEO, the board must reach consensus on the CEO'S job description arKI
