TRUSTEES REPORT
Thi5 report covers the period I" April 2023 to 31" March 2024
THE PURPOSE
The Four Orange Thursday Club has been established to promote the advancement of community
relations between all members of the community in Newtownhamilton and surrounding areas and
its environs without distinction of age, sex, and race, political, religious or other opinion. It will so do
by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary orDnisations and inhabitants in common effort to
advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare, education, recreation or
other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said
inhabitants, to establish a community development initiative and to co-operate with other relevant
organisations in the promotion of activities by the club and its constituent bodies in furtherance of
the above objects. To promote and provide education in the Ulster-scots music and culture and
other indigenous traditions and cultures.
PUBLIC BENEFIT
The trustees have agreed to the Commissions Public Benefit system during the year.
REPORT
We have just had a very good year for the club and are getting back to nomial after the Lock Down,
the volunteer and committee are working well together to help the elderly living in isolation and
loneliness.
During the year we have organised 24 afternoon Tea Dances with 912 members this includes
members from the loca5 community- We had 2 Day Trips one to Montalto House Ballynahinch and
one to Colemans Garden Centre where 98 members attended. We also had Senior Citizen Lunches
and Coffee Mornings which were well attended both by the local Community and our members. The
Member5 Overnight Respite Break this year was to The Bushtown House Hotel which the members
enjoyed meetin8 new friends at the Dance in the hotel. 52 of our members attended.
This has been an enjoyable Year for the club, and we have met all our targets. We continue to
contact the senior citizens who live alone by social media and ensure that they do not need any help
and also encourage them to join the Thursday Club when it is safe to do so. We are still thankful to
Newry and Mourne Community Transport for their assistance getting the sernior citizens to and from
our events.
This year we have completed the Volunteers Training programme and next year we hope to have a
programme of training suitable to our needs this will help with the further running of the club. Can I

thank all that have been involved in running the club over the past 11 years and hope we can
continue and improve our service to our members.
TRUSTEES
Mr. James Copeland, Mr Thomas McBirney, Mr Samuel Courtney BEM, Mrs Noreen Kennedy, Mrs
Georgina Johnston, at the beginning of the year the club had £4719.03 (Funding) and the closing
balance is E11353.27
Other than our Bank Account we have no other assets or liabilities.
