Trustees Report in respect of 2017-2018 Financial Period
PTF AGM - Meeting Monday 10[th] September 2018 – 7.30pm – 8.30pm
Chairperson’s Report
Mrs Kirk opened the meeting by welcoming everyone. She thanked all those in attendance (8 parents) for all the great work over the previous period. The fund raising events had been well spread out throughout the year had yielded a steady source of funds to support the work of the school.
The Carnival Night in particular was mentioned as a big success. This new event yielded a profit of £713.50 and was very well supported. The total lifted on the night was £938.13 with expenses of £224.63. Mrs Kirk stated that we hope to reduce these expenses next year by securing even more donations from local businesses. She praised everyone for their support and hard work and concluded by saying how impressive the bunting and stalls had looked on the night.
Treasurer’s Report
Mrs McClelland stated that once again the Christmas Ballot had been a big success raising a net amount of £512.00. Mrs Darragh had once again provided an extremely large hamper which had raised £226. The Christmas craft fair was a great success, raising £649.03. A key factor contributing to this impressive figure was the decision to sell only our own tea, coffee and buns.
Mrs McClelland then spoke about the coin trail which again had raised a very healthy sum of £214.96. The children had enjoyed the competitive aspect too with classes competing to bring in the most one and two pence pieces.
Mrs McClelland also mentioned that that new Carnival Night, which brought together the Spring Fair and Games Night, had been a very enjoyable event which raised good money in its first year and has the potential to do even better next year. She also endorsed Mrs Kirk’s comments about the event by commending everyone who had helped across the many different stalls.
With regard to expenditure Mrs McClelland commented on how well the Play House looked which had been a significant spend of £687.45.
Mrs McClelland then asked Mr. Brown if the teachers had any specific expenditure items in mind for the year ahead. Mr. Brown in reply stated to continue fund raising
towards the goal of each class eventually having their own laptop in order to practice and develop keyboard skills.
Office positions were then opened for new candidates but the same personnel were happy to remain in post for 2017-2018 with no one else wishing to step forward.
Mr. Brown concluded the meeting by thanking everyone for their attendance and Mrs Kirk and Mrs McClelland for their reports.
