the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republlc of Ireland IFRS 1021.
The Trustees, Report contains the information required lo be provided In the Trustees, Annual Report under the
Statement of Recommended Practice {SORP) guidelines. The Injstees of the company are also Charity Intstses for
the putpose of charity law and under the company's eonslilution are known as membèrs of the board of Iruslees.
In this report the Iruslees of ODAT LIMITED present a summary of its purpose. govemance. activities. achievgmenls
and finances for the financial year 13 September 2024.
The charity Is a registered charity and hence the report and r8suIIs are presented in a fomi which complies with the
requirements of the Companies Act 2006 and. although not obliged lo comply with the Ststement of Recommended
Practice (Charities SORP effective January 20151, the organisalion has implemented its recommendatlons where
relevant in these financial ststsments.
Mlsslon, Objectlves and Strategy
Objectives
To provide opportunities ft)r families and frfends of alcohollcs at open meetings with al-anon members and health
professionals and at meetings with selected interested groups and al closed meetings of only the friends and relatsves
of alcoholics lo leam about the diseases and how lo miligale the negative impact of the disease on th8 lives of the
family and friends of the alcoholic. These meetings allow those who have experience in living with an alcoholic the
opportunity lo share with the audience their oxperiences and successes. We also provide a 24 hour telephone advise
line where the public in need of help regarding a family or friend of a an alcohol abuser can speak to and be given
guidance by a dedicated estsblished al- anon member on a confidential basis.

ODAT LIMITED is a company limited by guarantee incorporated in Northem Ireland. The regSslered office of

prinapal plaee of business of the company The financial statements have been presented in Pound (£1 which
is also the functlonal currency of the company.
SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES

material in relation lo the charity's finanGial statements.
Basls of proparation
The financial slalements have been prepared on the going concern basis under the historical cost convention.

As peimitted by the Companies Act 2006, the charity has varied the standard fom)al$ in that act for the
Slalemenl of Financial Activities and the Balance Sheet. Departures from the standard fomals are to comply
with the requiTements of the Charities SORP and are In compliance with sectlon 4.7, 10.6 and 15.2 of that
SORP.
Statement of compllance
The financial statements of the charity for the financial year ended 31 December 2017 have been prepared on
the going concern basis and in accordance with the Slalement of Recommended Practice ISORP}
"Accounting and Reporting by Charitie5 preparing their accounts in accordance with Ihe Financial Reporting
Standard applicable In the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102. applying Section 1A of that Standard.

UnreslrTCted funds consist of General and Designated funds.
General funds represent amounts which are expendable at the tjiscrellon of the board, in furtherance of the
objectives of the charity.
Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds thal the board has, at Ils discretion. set aside for particular
purposes. These designations have an administrative purpose only, and do not legally restrict the bgard's
discretion lo apply the fund.
Incoming Resourcgs
Voluntary income or capital is included in the Slalement of Financial Aclivltles when the charty Is legally
enlilled lo it, its financial value can be quantified with reasonable certainty and there is reasonable certainty of
its ultimate receipt. Entillemenl lo legacies is considered established when the charity has been notified of a
dislnbulion lo be made by the executors. Income received In advance of due performance under a contract is
accounted for as doferred income until earned. Grants for aetivilies are recognised as income when the
related conditions for legal entitlement have been met. Al other income is accountefl for on an accruals basis.
Resources Expended
All resources expended are a￿OUnted for on an accruals basls. Charitable aclivlties include costs of servI￿S
and grants. SUPPOrt costs and d9preciatlon on related assets. Costs of generating funds similarly include
fundrdising activities. Non-staff costs not attributed to one category of acllvity are allocated or apportioned
Pmryrata to the staffing of the relevant service. Financ8, HR. IT and administrative staff costs are directly
attributsble lo individual aGlivitl8s by objoctive. Governance costs are those 8ssoGiated with conslilulional and
statutory requirements.

Tangible fixed assets are slated at cost or at valuation. less aecumulaled depreciation. The charge to
depreciation is calculated to write off the original cost or valuation of tangible fixed assets, less their esiimaled

Cash at bank and in hand comprises cash on deposit al banks requiring less than three months notlce of

Taxation
No current or deferred taxation arises as the charity has been granted charitsble exemption. Irrecoverable
valued added tax Is expensed as incurred.
The charity's activities fall within the exemptions affored by the provisions of the Income and Corporation
Taxes Act 1988. Accordingly, there is no taxation charge in these acGounls.
