Trustee Annual Report
Omagh Gateway Club promotes the social inclusion of people with a
learning disability in their local area; ensure they have equality of
opportunity in accessing social and leisure opportunities in the right
environment with the right support. The Gateway club operates in a local
community centre with support to the members is provided by volunteers
therefore the club promotes volunteering and the voluntary sector.
Omagh Gateway Club promotes the effectiveness of Mencap in local area
and is an affiLiated group to the Royal Mencap Society and therefore, through
its work, Omagh Gateway Club ensures the effective use of charitable
resources.
The Omagh Gateway Club provides social and leisure opportunities for
adults with a Learning disability from the local and surrounding area. The
club offers a range of games, educational. creative, life skills, environmental
and sports activities as well as occasional events and trips.
The group meets every Thursday night from September till June at The
Station Centre in Omagh with approximately 60 members with a physical
and/or learning disabiLity registered.
Public Benefit Statement
The Omagh Gateway Club provides social and leisure opportunities for
adults with a learning disability from the local and surrounding area. The

club offers a range of games, educational, creative, life skilLs, environmental
and sports activities. The aim of the Club is to provide leisure and social
opportunities and to encourage the personal and social development of
Club members through a range of activities. Through the clubs, activities, the
members who attend learn new skills, develop their social skills and
interests, meet new people and develop newfriendships. The club therefore
also provides respite and support for parents and carers of the members
that attend. The voluntary management of the Club and voluntary leadership
and supervision during the activity club assists in drawing upon the
opportunities, skills and talents that each volunteer brings to the Club.
Through the clubs, activities and volunteer support and development, the
club raises awareness of learning disability in the locaL area.
Financlal Revlew
Club returned after Covid in March 2022 and had a deLay in returning after
Summer break due to a change in leadership and returned in October 2022.
The charity has no debts or depreciating assets.
