The Association is established to relieve poverty, to advance education and to promote the preservation and protection of health among people aged 50 or over (hereinafter called 'Senior Citizens') in the Greater Belfast area ('the area of benefit') without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, disability/ability, race, political, religious or other opinion, and in particular: (a) to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the education, recreation and leisure time occupation of Senior Citizens who by reason of social or economic circumstances have need of such facilities.
