Joan Cardwell PURPOSES Bawn Ladies was established to promote a range of mutual benefits for the people of The Bawn and surrounding area in Mid Ulster District Council area. A new hall was opened at Tha Bawn in 2014 and there was a very Significant increase in hall useage as a consequen¢2 in this rural and isolated area of South Tyrone. As in many instances The Ladies can be the bac* bone of a rural community and so il was decided lo formally constitute a Ladies group separate from the other existin9 groups at The Bawn. One of their popular functions is lo provide support to other groups_ In addition Bawn Ladies do engage in their own adivities.. particularty during the winter months. Their remit Is also lo raise awareness among local rural women on the tuition of various crafts. Their purpose is to generally engage in educational and leisure time activities. This lo address and promote mental health and well being issues. Also to address and promote soaal welfare issues. A comprehensive list of their objectives and 'purpose for being, is contained Véithin 8awn Ladies Constitution. BENEFICIARIES The entire group of Bawn Ladies of which there are up to twenty are all beneficiaries. The 'ladies' engage in a wide and varied range of activities which positively addresses mental health issues. Their activities are educational and recreational and address a
wide range of women's issues which contribute towards women's well being generally. In addition, all of the other groupings at The Bawn have also benefited by virtue of 'Bawn Ladies, who act as a support catering group to virtually all of the functions in The Bawn Hall. So, numerically literally hundreds of people benefit by virtue of Bawn Ladies existence. ACTIVITIES As can be seen from above, Bawn Ladies engage in a wide and varied rang8 of activities. They a particularty active during Trmnter months when they engage in crafts, flower arranging, healthy eating, creative activities such as card and lamp shade making. Bawn Ladies engage in seminars vthich positively address mental health issues. They also engage in CreatIOnal and educational topics vhich conlribules to women's well being generally. Bawn Ladies also provide tering support to all of the other groupings at The 8awn ACHIEVEMENTS HOW MAIN BENEFICIARIES ACTIVITIES HAVE BENEFITED Bawn Ladies in themselves have delivered and achieved what they sel out to do. They have provided for, and engaged in a wide range of activities which has been educational, therapeutic, and contributed towards positive mental health as well as 'well being, generally amongst women. From vela1 feed back there is no doubt Ladies continue to have a posf(ive impact on all of the crtizens of the environs of The Ba and surrounding aa generally. We as a management committee are sats'sfied have delivered the objectives lo our beneficiaries. The committee al all limes have had regard for the Public Benefit Guidan as issued by the Charity Commission INI) in all decisions ere the guidance was relevant. Financial position has been maintained in accordar)ce viilh guidelines as set out. FINANCIAL REVIEW AT END OF YEAR FINANCIAL POSITION AT END OF YEAR:Our treasurer is meticulous ensuring no improprieties. Virtually all of the activities as engaged in during this financial year were self financing with The Ladies providing their own resources. We have no outstanding debts or liabilities at the end of the financial year.
RESTRICTIONS ON WHO CAN BENEFIT There are no restrictions on who can benefit. We do not charge any fees. There are no charges to access any events or services. There are no restrictions based on personal characteristics. PUBLIC BENEFIT The direct benefits which flow from Bawn Ladies have t*ntributed lo improving the CL+ndilions of life in a variety of fomis as described above for all benefiaaries who are admitted compliance with section 75. Other Benefrts induded ..educational.increased personal esteem, and personal development through engaging and leading in all of the various activities.. PRIVATE BENEFIT There is no private benefit to any individual. HARM No harm has flowed from any of our Purposes. SERIOUS INCIDENT REPORTING There are no serious incidents to report. VULNERABLE BENFICIARIES Appropriate Policies, Procedures and Training are in place such as vulnerable adults awareness. STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE The Trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the Charity Commission Nl's Public Benefit Guidance when exercising any powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant. The success of the work of The Bavm Ladies is possible mainly due to their voluntary commrtment and the leaders volunteer their lime.
