L)rgan recital planned for 2020 to celebrate the 5(lth anniversary of Ihe first Music in May festival
concert and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Dunleath OrRan Scholarship Trust
was ￿Ven in Down Cathedral in September 2022 2nd linked with the Service of Thanksgiving
tnr Dorinda, l.ddy Dunleath {a founder-member of the Dunleath OrRan Scholarship Trnst who.
sadly. died in March 2022). Copies of a shon h￿ory of the Music in Moy festivaL prepared on
behalf of the Trust, were circulated at the recital. The booklet includes information about the
establishnient and purpose of the Trust.
In 2022 the Trust decided to discontinue the prartice of scheduling an annual organ workshop
for younR Irish or2anists and. instead. resu5Citate the scholarship scheme that operated
successfully for a number of years from 1995. The scholarship for 2023 was advertised in late
2022 and an award was made in 2023 to enable a Student to attend the St Andrews or￿an
Week in Scotland. Following his participation in the Organ week the student submitted a report
to the Trust and commented on the value of the learnin2 experience. benefitin% from the
tutoring provided by a distinguished team of organ specialists. and the fijrther opportunities
that it opened up forhim.
