Cloughskelt Rural and Cultural Association Annual Report l April 2017 to March 2018 Charity number: 102922 Purpose of Charity and Artivities and Achlevements Cloughskelt Rural and Cultural Association hold educational and hlstoritral events to promote and educate the public on our history, heritage & culture. We also hold fund raising events throughout the year and give all profits to local families who are in need because of illnesse5 like pygeria. cerebral palsy and other illness. This year we held a number of events including a Barbecue and cultural night in august and a big breakfast to fund raise. Public Benefit In setting our objectives and planning our activitles for the year the trustees have ¥ven careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefitto ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charitys purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries. All our activities are related to one or more of the following charitable objectives: l The advancement of culture by promotlng and preserving the heritsge. culture and traditions of the Cloughskelt area and its environs, conducting historical research, and motivating people to protett and conserve their cultural heritage- 2 The advancement of education by organisin& promoting ancl presenting educational and cultural attivities, developing the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community of Cloughskelt in such a way thatthey are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society, and educating the public in the history, customs and culture of the area; and 3 The advancement of citizenship and community development by providing leisure and recreational facilities for the benefit and enjoyment of the public and in the interests of social welfare. Trustees for financial year 2017-2018 were as follows: Robert Herron - Chairperson Emma Trimble-vice Chair Lila Johnston - Treasurer Avril Johnston - Secretary There were no funds held bythe charity that was in any way deficit at the end of our financial year and we had a closing balance of £2655.01
