The Board of Trust¢es comprises of 8 niembers who give th¢ir lime vojuntsrily and
are responsible for the governance. perfonnance and strategic d1￿CtiOn of the
organisation. The Board meets 6 times per year to ￿VIeW and monitor the work and
progress of S.T.E.P.S.
The daily running of the clwtty is overseen by the chairpe￿0￿ MT Gerry McKiEmey.
Ms. maU￿n McHugh. Treasurer is responsible for the management of accounts and
preparation of fmancial statements.

Recruitment and Appoxntment of the Board of Trustses:
Tnjstees are voted and selected at the Annva] General Meditig. Due to the nature of
th¢ work that S.T.E.P.S. is involved in and the community it serv4 the Board seeks
to ensure that the experiences and needs of its service ￿ser$ are appropriately refl¢¢ted
through the diversity, ￿perIenCe and skills of its board membcrs.

Objectives of tbe Cbarity
S.T.E.P.S. is establish￿ to provide educatio￿ relieve mental health sickness and
promote mental health and emotional well being to those suffering with mentsl health
issues. their faniilies and carers in particular.
To provide educatioffj lnfornuti0￿ support and interventions to those in
need of it through the provision of counselling session4 listening ear,
stress managemenL and personal development courses.
To provide a forum for thos¢ with mental health issues to voice th¢ir
experiences of their mental health issues and to furthcr infiuence the
planning and delivery of servic
To foster support among people suffering mental health issue4 their
familylsUPPOrt networK and their carers: and to pmvide facilities which
education those individuals with the objective of improving their mental
health and living conditions.

Summary of the Main Activities undertaken by S.T.E.P.S.
S.T.E.P.S. is a user-led community based mentsl health organisation which provides a
much needed self help progrdmme for those suffering from mcntsl health issues. The
programn)e enables individuals access to emotional suptM)rt services tailored to their
specific needs.

The Maiti Acitivities are as follows:

individuals to identify aod make infornied choiccs regarding their future.

Volunteers:
tn this period 9 service users gained the necessary qualifications in order to a55iSt
delivery of the various services within th¢ programme. These volunteers contributed
a totsl of b¢tween 2 and 5 hours per week supporting clients and menttKrs of the
voluntsry team.
Financial Review:
The year ending March 2019 shows the Income & Expenditure to be a positive
outcome, but with room for further fundraising to enable to resource funds for ￿tUre
endeavours. S.T.E.P.S. n￿ltita1ned their financi￿ tsrgets for this period and expended
reSoUr￿S ¢ffectively. The outtook for the fithwe looked good with new funding
bodies having been identified.
Plans for the future:
New fimding bjdies have been id¢ntified and funding workshops have
been planned for volunteers to att¢Dd to accrue strategies for completing
funding appli¢alion&
To research new arts & crafts interests and plans for this service within the
programme to includ¢ as all women in attendance at Ptesence.
