AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Drumlough Community Association was set up to improve the lives of those living in the Drumlough and surrounding areas. We run various activities and events, provide signposting services and lobby for improvements with various agencies including NIHE, PCSP, PSNI, EA, Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Transport NI etc.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Our main events during this period were a Country Music Night, Christmas Light switch on and Children's party, Senior Citizens Christmas lunch, Senior Citizens BBQ, Children's fun day & BBQ, bus trip, Scottish dance class and a King's Coronation tea party.
We continued with our weekly walking group which ran through Spring to September. Our annual bus trip this year took us to Newry and South Down. As well as these we held Armchair Aerobic classes.
Our only grants for the year were all received from Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, mainly the Community Support Grant for £2678, the Christmas grant for £1000, Hardship Grant for £2000 and The King’s Coronation Grant for £500.
Next year we hope to repeat most of these events, with a new location picked for our Bus trip, and the addition of something new.
